Good morning all. Largo, I don't think the models have been able to properly predict the strength of the High pressure that has kept storm systems at bay here in the FL peninsula. If you remember back, the models said we were going to have a wet March. I have had 0.50" for the month. Stormtracker Scott made several posts on the WU blog about how the models were saying that the pattern was changing to a wet pattern, but the reality is we have been extremely dry. We will get our rains eventually this summer.

Then you will probably get 20 inches in a week.

You are probably right, just hope this summer is less extreme than last summer. We were very dry last spring going into summer, then we flooded. We got TS Colin which dropped 6" on us, the no-name low in August that dropped 25" (IN 5 DAYS!), then Hurricane Hermine which dropped a foot of rainfall, along with a big surge that extended many miles inland. Needless to say a years worth of rainfall in a short period can cause some headaches for those who live in low lying areas.

Hope so Largo. I haven't had a response from Matt and Ed hasn't posted anything else on the blog he created.
Wonder what happened to Jenny, Farmer and others?
It sure is a shame that the powers to be decided to get rid of the blogs. It'll be nothing but GW blather over there.

Hi Largo...
I'm not sure exactly what you were referring to, but I do have the ability to make some minor changes. I just changed it so that the newer posts show up first. Is this what you were asking about?
I guess it was never an issue, because we all just clicked on the scrolling comment at the top left of the page and it takes you to the last post. :-)

I see newest posts are now on the first page. I'm flexible so whatever the majority is comfortable with works for me. Does forumotion have the ability to number posts? For example could this one be tagged as #300 or whatever number this one happens to be.

Now that I click on the latest topics I get dumped to the last page. Just my opinion but I think you should flip it back san. The "quick reply" is also at the bottom of the thread and prevents mucho scrolling.

Hey Sangria,
I think this is what Largo was looking for. I think the challenge is when you're on this page and you do a refresh. The only way that I have found a Refresh to remain on this page is to always click on a page number to get here. (i.e. Click Florida Blog, opens a new tab; then click on the latest page number to get here.) Then, of course, you have to watch for a new page to open. I have found that any other action(s) to get here, and refresh takes you back to the main chat page. Not 'plainin'; just a different look/feel. Us old farts can be slow to adapt sometimes.

Re: CLOSED New Florida Weather Blog (and Mobile!)
This is how I generally manuever around...
1) Open Thunderbolt Weather
2) Look at top left (above the FL BLog widget)
3) Read the scrolling "Latest topics"
4) Click on the one I want to see, and it takes me to the most recent comment in the topic
That widget doesn't auto update - you have to refresh your page to see if a new comment has been posted. When you refresh, it will take you back to the same page you were on, but the widget will have updated with any new comments.

Hey San. All of that is clear. Thanks.
Not really out to get too deep here. I have adapted to my way of being here, and it works. If it changes, I will adapt once again. Maybe one day, I'll be off the work laptop (which causes some of my challenges) and making better use of my personal tablet.
But I am glad that we flipped over again.

since this site started it has always just been a speck on the web. We all just placed the things we wanted or needed for tracking canes on the front page. With only a small number of users we have a lot of "Vacant Rooms"
But it's time to grow and with growing comes growing pains...
but we can make them easier as we grow...
San break out a big ole suggestion box and place it on the front page....with in reason all of us and the wonderful new members can make this a great home and a first stop during hurricane season...
This will please 99% but you can't do anything about that 1%

well as for the first page..forget I said anything ok..i see puppy toes found us and posted, so it looks like everything is ok...im thinking once doc kills the WU blogs..MORE Florida folks will find us and this blog will indeed grow..im happy for that and I hope it comes true...as you can see I myself during storm times am a heavy poster especially during the day when most of you are working,so I can keep the blog updated with the warnings etc..especially if a Tropical system threatens Florida...I hope that's ok with you folks?...well lets keep our fingers crossed for Friday's rains..sure could use a few inches here by me whew..ground is so dry and..the temps are getting warmer too now....I remember back on my old puter...I used to blog in an old blog way back in the early 2006-7 era...and in that blog...they used a coffee post in the morning..sort of like a daily roll call so they knew who was online that day....me?..i make a coffee post because I love coffee lol...well i'll try to start it tomorrow ok.....well enough from me..thank you folks for making a Great friendly Florida blog here..its surely needed.

Oops. Lost a comment. I think I hit Draft button, and now I can't find it. Luckily it's in my clipboard.

Hey JR!
I'm not sure I follow you..... When I am on this page and do a "refresh" it brings me right back to this page, not a different page number.
Hey San,
Boring day this morning, so I did a write up on this. To keep from cluttering the blog with a bunch of screenshots, I'm trying to upload a word doc. We'll see if this works. (this could be a really dangerous function -- a lot of bad stuff can make it into these file types)
Added: Well it's not dangerous if max file size is zero.
