I clipped this from NWS Melbourne's morning discussion..........................DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
A moderate rip current risk will continue the rest of this week
and into next weekend.

A band of lightning storms is forecast to push east across parts
of east central Florida on Friday ahead of a cold front. A few of
these storms may contain frequent cloud to ground lightning and
strong wind gusts.

Hey JR!

I'm not sure I follow you.....   When I am  on this page and do a "refresh" it brings me right back to this page, not a different page number.

Here you go, San.  Sorry to everyone else for the long and value-less comment.  This can happen when I get spare time.  Wink

Refresh Challenge:
Go to thunderboltweather.com and you land here:

Click on New Florida Weather Blog (and Mobile!) from Latest Topics and you land at the end of that blog:

Push F5 (Refresh) and I go back to the Chat box

This is the way it happens on my laptop, whenever I utilize the Latest Topics list.  F5 always takes me back to the Chatbox.  If I always just re-click on Latest Topics (choosing same topic that I'm already on) to effectuate a refresh (instead of F5), it works just fine, but it requires a scroll to the top (or Home key) and a wait for the scroll.

To get around this, I go to thunderboltweather.com and utilize this I.E. tab just to detect new postings (via refresh of Latest Topics).  If one of the less common blogs has an update, I just follow that link for the latest, then refresh just to get an updated Latest Topics (because it takes me back to chat box).

To get the the latest Florida Blog, I click the Florida Blog.

This opens up a new tab:

And I click on the comment page that I want:

This gives me the end of the comments, and F5/refresh brings me back to the same spot.  If a new page is added, I just have to notice it (Latest Topics is updated, but no new comment on the page, usually makes me look for a new page number.)  After going to the new page, refresh continues to work.

The difference that I see is in the address bar.  If I just use the Latest Topics links, the address remains http://thunderboltweather.com/.  When I go to the Florida Blog, via its dedicated link, the address changes to http://weatherchatroom.forumotion.com/f12-florida-blog.  I believe that this is why the refresh sticks here, but not when the address is thunderboltweather.com.

This could certainly be isolated to me, and I'm fine with it, but hopefully this explains it a little better.

Hey JR!

I'm not going to quote you, but I just quickly read through your post. I have to run to the store to get some string cheese or the pooch is going to be a very unahppy camper in the morning. :-(

I'll absorb it all and try both ways when I get back and see if anything can be tweaked!!

Thanks for not quoting, San. That's why I wanted to upload it as a doc. (Plus, it was something new to try.) I always trim down the extraneous imbedded quotes and pics to keep down the irritation level of the blog.

Hope you took your time. You certainly want your pooch to get his cheese.

and not a big deal on the refresh thing. Only if you're looking for a challenge.

It won't be long until my favorite time of year watching the sea breeze fronts slowly penetrating inland and firing off storms. It's therapeutic sitting outdoors watching the atmosphere grow with anger until it's time to relocate indoors.

Another deluge for gomey and perhaps some relief upcoming for the northern 2/3's of Florida. The southern third of the peninsula isn't looking too good. Dinner calls shortly. Laterz.

So......my results:

1) I clicked on the most recent comment in the FL blog under the scrolling "Latest Topics'
2) It took me to the bottom of the page with the last comment posted
3) I refreshed with F5 and it took me to the bottom of the page with the last comment posted
4) I refreshed by just using the mouse and the "refresh" function next to my address bar
5) It took me to the bottom of the page with the last comment posted

Result: I cannot duplicate your issue. I'm wondering if it has to do with IE. I use Chrome and FF and it works the same in both. I do have Microsoft Edge on this computer, but I haven't engaged it - I don't want to tell them everything... lol

Can you try it on another browser and see what action occurs?

well things have changed and our storm chances have decreased for Friday..........................................NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0147 AM CDT Wed Mar 29 2017

Valid 311200Z - 011200Z

...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ON FRIDAY FROM
SOUTHEAST VA INTO THE CAROLINAS AND SOUTHEAST GA...

...SUMMARY...
Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may develop on Friday over
parts of the Southeast.

...VA into Carolinas and southeast GA...
A shortwave trough will track eastward from the TN Valley on
Thursday into the southeast states on Friday. Model guidance
suggests that timing of shortwave is considerably faster than
previously depicted. This results in less time for destabilization
over the Carolinas/GA ahead of the trough. Also, 00z model
solutions suggest wind fields will be weaker and coverage of
thunderstorms is less certain. Therefore will maintain only a MRGL
risk of severe storms on Friday for parts of VA, the Carolinas, and
southeast GA.

For the first time in the history of the extreme south of Florida, snow danced through the air and dusted the ground briefly. A quarter century later, the scene has not been repeated.

I think some of this might be related to the ads that show up. When I'm not on my vpn (which blocks ads), I get new windows open which say that access is not allowed (something like that). I would also get this at WU though. I also noticed on my tablet earlier that I was getting a pop-up request, that I also just closed. I found later on the laptop that the pop-up request came from this site due to receiving a Notification. I think there are options for that in the Notifications area. Just a thought -- these may or may not be related to anything going on with you folks.

On another note, I have the same Refresh experience on my google android tablet, with chrome, that I have on my windows ie laptop. Go figure -- it must be user error!! Smile

Looks like I'm peaking at 85 today. Mid-80s / Mid-60s, day after day. April. Hopefully, Friday will change things up a bit on the rain side.

folks up in the panhandle and big bend area's eastward stay alert for this second front coming after Fridays front...here's NWS Tallahassee's discussion on it....................................LONG TERM [Saturday Through Wednesday]...

Dry and warm conditions will prevail during the weekend under an
upper level ridge, with highs reaching the mid-upper 80s each
day. More active weather is expected to return Monday as another
highly amplified upper trough approaches our area. This feature
will be associated with a sub-1000 mb surface low possibly moving
northeastward across the lower Mississippi Valley region into the
Ohio Valley region from Monday afternoon through the night. CAPE
will potentially increase to 1000-2000 J/kg across our area and a
strong mid-level jet could produce very high bulk shear values. If
this setup verifies, there would be a decent chance of strong to
severe thunderstorms across our area, with all modes of severe
weather (damaging wind, hail, and tornadoes) possible. As deep
layer moisture moves into our area (PWAT values up to 2.0"), heavy
rain is also possible with this system, especially across western
parts of our area with some models showing the potential for up
to several inches of rain. However, since this event is still
several days out, significant uncertainty remains in the track and
intensity of the system.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the updates all. I'm whooped. I have a little furry friend as well. Aggravates me at times but she's a sweet pooch.

Mid 80's here today but still comfortable with relatively low dew points.

Have a good one Largo.  No night crew from me.  I can only lurk for a few minutes during the day and check in after work.  Then dinner calls, I eat, watch TV, then in bed by 10!  Rinse and repeat.
