well GFS is mentioning the possible rains later next week around Thursday...

yes in reading most of the nws discussions,it seems they think some possible showers wed/thurs some say 20-40 pecent chances right now but for myself i'll wait to see what they are saying maybe mon/tues huh...lord knows we need rain badly here with this severe drought going on especially in central florida.

Happy Good Friday!! Just saw the NWS Ruskin facebook post that this Oct-April has been one of the driest on record for much of the peninsula of FL. My rainfall total for that period has been 5.4", which would be the lowest reading posted. Here is the link to the post.

Good Morning billsfan..im on my second cup lol..watch the traffic today,some driving crazy for some reason and a lot of out of state visitors here for the Holiday weekend too.

yeah my area is in extreme drought whew..might take more than a day of rain to catch up,ran my sprinklers this morning, think i'll do it again this evening...so dry here and the suns getting warmer each day now.

For those who might be traveling this weekend to be with Family etc..I want to wish you all a Very Happy and safe Easter Holiday in advance ok..

By this time next week, 98% of the snowbirds will be gone back up north.
Traffic will still be a problematic though. The powers that be over in my area are on a road narrowing mission. What once was a six land road, temporarily is down to a two lane road (one each way), but will be permanently a four lane road with a bike lane. Now this is a major road which fees onto a road that is seconds away from I-95. It's a ridiculous nightmare. They are doing this same thing with most of the roads in my area.

yes traffic is nuts here by me also.and accidents beginning also..gee,I cant wait till this Holiday is over and done with.

I read in the news paper's a few weeks ago..they are planning to put those Roundabouts on intersections..i hate them,accident prone they are,I really don't know what they are thinking.

I dream all winter of Easter..... the bulk of the snowbirds leave the week after!

You're probably the one not paying attention.    Self I have one up the road behind the local Publix near a fire station and strip mall.  Just keep my peepers open and all is well.

well its early Saturday morning and if the models verify,moisture and showers may be returning to Florida after Wednesday of the coming week and..GFS is saying the following Monday we could get some GOOD rains..so perhaps we may get a break from this dry spell...but..its early yet and the models can change huh.

morning.

An elevated risk of rip currents will likely continue into early
next week.

Deeper moisture will bring higher coverage of showers across the
region mid to late week, along with the threat for a few
thunderstorms each afternoon.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

.DENSE FOG/SMOKE IMPACT...
Localized dense smoke from soldering fires may affect nearby roads
including State Roads 528, 520, and 407 in eastern Orange and
northwest Brevard Counties early this morning and again late
tonight. New fires in eastern Lake and southwestern Volusia
Counties could also impact local roads, specially State Road 44
near Cassia and Interstate 4 near Orange City. Be sure to check
road conditions if planning travel through those areas. Allow
extra time to reach your destination safely. Always use extreme
caution if you encounter low visibility.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
Building east swells will contribute to a high risk of rip
currents at east central Florida beaches. The risk for strong rip
currents will be greatest during the late afternoon and early
evening due to tidal effects. Strong rip currents can be life
threatening. Rough surf will also pose a hazard to beach goers.
Check with the local beach patrol for information about ocean
hazards. Only enter the ocean within sight of a lifeguard and do
not swim alone.

If caught in a rip current remain calm. Don`t fight the current.
Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape,
face the shore and call or wave for help. If tired, float or
tread water until out of the pull of the rip current.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Winds and seas will remain hazardous into the morning hours and
then small craft operators should exercise caution on the
Atlantic this afternoon as winds gradually decrease.

.FIRE WEATHER IMPACT...
Easterly winds, breezy at times, will have the potential to
enhance the spread of wildfires. Dry vegetation and low relative
humidity will also combine to continue a moderate to very high
fire danger across east central Florida.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
Onshore flow into mid week wil bring an elevated rip current risk
to east central Florida beaches.

Yeah this blog is getting long huh..I asked around and no one has heard from Scott..its a shame because he makes some good posts but I know he has a hectic personal life right now..maybe once the tropics start he'll come back to us here...man I sure miss the WU blogs..doc and company made a bad mistake I think.

I wonder if those fires up around Pasco county etc are affecting John and folks who live inland...we sure need a couple of days with some good long lasting rainfall to really soak the ground etc.

well this afternoon some showers with winds gusting to almost 30mph down in southeast Florida this afternoon.

so NWS Tampa has my area at a low 20% rain chances towards end of the coming week..they really don't expect much around here,but they keep saying each afternoon a shower could happen..just there's no lift etc to make any good rains and/or storms...doesn't look much like any chance this month in looking at the models...oh well someday the rains will return..just look at California..was in a real mean drought, now they are getting rain and storms almost every day huh..our turn will come.
