Yes Largo, it does appear the rainy season may be trying to set up next week.  From Tuesday to next Friday my rain chances are currently 20%/40%/40%/50%.  As we know those summertime storms are hit/miss.  One area gets 2" while 5 miles down the road gets .02".  As long as I see 40-50% rain chances in the forecast regularly I will be pleased.
good morning Aug.yeah hopefully the rains begin, for my area I need the west coast sea breeze to kick start our west coast showers, in summer it does a good job doing it......one note, in browsing the storm sites..i see some models are hinting at a Caribbean something forming first weeks of june..too early yet and as of right now..nothing there..i'll keep watching.....wow one beautiful holiday weekend we have now huh.have a great day Aug

just read there is a florida sales tax holiday on storm prep supplies etc....2017 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
The law creates a three-day holiday from June 2-4. Sales tax-free items can include: flashlights and lanterns costing $20 or less, radios, tarps, coolers, first aid kits and generators, among other items...

Good Morning!!  Only received .25 inches from the "storm" the other day, but cannot really complain as that gives me a total of 4.19 inches for the month of May. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and remember why we are able to enjoy this weekend and every day!  Say a prayer for those who did not return home and their families!  Phil

Good afternoon everyone. Summer has arrived in South Florida for sure. I woke up at 8:15 and opened the back door, and UGGH, a wall of heat greeted me.
Going to be a long time until November!

I think Miami broke a heat record today, dating back to 1902. just pointing out that warming and cooling are likely, possibly more cycular than we all know.

Good morning. Agreed about remembering those fallen to protect our freedoms.

That's a bit warm billsfan. Not a good day for the AC to break down!

Yeah Largo, I saw the GFS was hinting at something as well in the long run. Could be the typical ghost storm. As you said way to early to believe.

Hmmm, there may be something to this. CMC develops a system early per Largo's image (6 days which is not far off). GFS waits until 300 hours or so. I just checked the Euro and it develops low pressure off the TX coast at 216 hours. The 240 hour Euro is below.

So, 3 models are showing some sort of development in the GOM but don't agree on the timing. We'll need to see if they keep showing something on future runs and if they move forward in time.

Good morning everyone!

Uggh at the heat so early. I have a bad feeling about my electric bill for the next four months. :-(

It may be hot, but at least it is a beautiful weekend for the gatherings and festivities to remember our fallen. I doubt you can get a parking spot at the beaches after 10am.

Thanks for staying on top of model forecasts Largo and posting some here.

Aug I agree, three models with different timing but same area leads one to believe that they may be latching onto something, albeit it could just be nothing other than lowering pressure.

Two words.........budget billing. I love it for the consistently from month to month. Used to bother me years ago when I'd have a $50 bill in the fall/winter then $200 in the summer.

I agree that budget billing is nice, but then I wouldn't have the surprise extra $$$$ in the winter!!

with this drought, in some area's severe drought..we need to watch out for our water supplies, since most of it comes from underground and any rains that come..takes the water a long time to sink down into our acquifers huh so a steady few weeks of afternoon showers should begin to help...my county has said lawn watering etc..is now limited to once a week unless you have reclaimed water which has no real limit..but 3 days a week is ok with that..ive had it for a couple of years now and its saved my lawn etc a few times already.

usually this time of year, anything that forms in the gulf Usually gets pushed towards Florida by the fronts coming from the west etc...hey, we can use the rains huh and I don't see any model so far..making it a hurricane so maybe it would be a weak LOW coming ashore somewhere...way too early yet to believe but..its time to go over preps etc..and remember..Florida has a tax free days for supplies, flashlights tarps etc..june 2-4th

The Euro is probably the most accurate but I mainly look at the GFS. I like the fact the model images are in 6 hour increments up to 240 hours. The Euro is in 24 hour increments. The GFS also offers more options as to map selection. The Euro does offer more if sign up for a paid membership at a site such as WeatherBell but that's not my cup of tea.

I usually don't worry about the storms coming in off the Gulf Largo. Different tune for the west coast FL folks and gomey. A storm like Charley or Wilma would certainly get my attention on the east coast but I fear the Atlantic most based on my coordinates.
