Aug ..may be a rainy day for you Tuesday..good luck up there.....................Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
231 PM EDT Mon Jun 12 2017
.NEAR TERM.../THROUGH TUESDAY/...
High pressure will be East/Northeast of the region this period.
A very moist airmass is in place with light flow. This combination
will result in potential for locally heavy rainfall. While a strong
storm with gusty winds can not be ruled out, the potential for flood
producing rainfall will be the main hazard this afternoon into this
evening. Not planning a watch, however, as the heaviest rain and any
flooding should be localized. Convection will dissipate by midnight,
but moisture will remain in place keeping skies cloudy with patchy
fog possible.
Convection will initiate around mid morning Tuesday, and last
through much of the day.
Night time low will be near normal, with clouds and rain holding
temperatures below normal for Tuesday.

Re: CLOSED 5/29/17 Florida/Alabama Weather Blog
Good afternoon.
Thanks Largo. Â I just finished work and was reading the Jax discussion. Â
I had some rain today but many areas nearby had quite a bit more. Â .30" in my rain gauge. Â Might get a little more later with some good fortune. Â It has been overcast most of the day but very muggy with temps only being 85 or so. Not a hint of a breeze. It is very still.

Afternoon all!
Largo, that's the way it goes around here. 2 miles from me can get a deluge and I don't get a stinkin sprinkle!
We need that SE flow to continue to help our chances at afternoon rain. :-)

I love watching stuff like this. Â Outflow boundary moving north from cells to the south. Â Outflow boundary moving SW from storms to the north. Â When they collide I suspect the radar will light up fairly quickly in the vicinity of that collision.

Current radar seems it is almost close enough for you to reach out and touch.
Edit: the radar above was static. That's one of my MO's. Real time looks more ominous now.

well it looks like more booming and storms here tonight.............................Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
955 AM EDT Tue Jun 13 2017
.UPDATE...
The synoptic setup for today remains very similar to yesterday, with
abundant column moisture in place and the Atlantic ridge axis
centered to our north. The morning KTBW sounding came in showing a
precipitable water value of just under 2 inches again and a light
low-level southeast flow. We have already been seeing some light
showers across parts of the region along with abundant cloud cover.
Lower stratus across some areas will continue to lift over the next
couple of hours, and this will add additional insolation over land,
helping to induce sea breeze development. As we go through the day,
we will start to see additional showers and storms popping up, but
then after 4 pm or so we should really start to see thunderstorms get
going as the sea breeze collides with the southeast boundary layer
flow. Thereafter, additional development will be more boundary-driven
before everything generally migrates westward this evening. Having
said all of this, made just a few relatively minor tweaks to the PoPs
for today with no other changes needed.
