Well the weather gods continued their quest to bring me just enough rainfall to make my grass grow faster than I can mow it. It rained 4 different times, but only measured up to 0.25".

Morning Largo. We got a nice shower yesterday. I just came from Levi's site, looks like like sumtin might be brewing on 25th for Florida. Of course this is waaay out but I like to keep an eye out. Going back for a cuppa.

yeah we around tampa bay should watch it also but..GFS does this,track changes daily..

No reason to get worked up. The previous sumtin that was showing looked worse but never materialized. Good news! Thanks for posting the pix Largo.

CMC model also has it around the 24th or so.................................

well right now just a few scattered showers coming across.....................

one thing about all this rainfall...a BIG Sinkhole opened up and destroyed two homes over in land-o-lakes Florida..be kind of alert for things around the house outside huh

I just cannot imagine..coming home to that.

I'm surprised that insurance companies haven't started a separate coverage for sinkholes. Maybe they already do, I just don't know about it.

HOT... few sprinkles here and there. NOT the total washout that they were predicting earlier in the week.

My gosh that's awful! And what's to stop this from involving other homes and property? I wouldn't be surprised to see remnants coming out in the lake! Very scary!

Hey PT. I just kinda heard a news update. I think I heard 2 homes gone, 10 evacuated. It is expected to grow. 100 w/o power. No injuries. And yes, septic tanks expected to show up in the lake.

I must say though, that since late last week, regardless of rain, sprinkles, or near (or complete) misses, the clouds and breezes have helped to have a good string of relatively pleasant evenings.

I'll agree with you on that JR.... the air temp and cloud cover have been nice changes this week. I'll take that, even if I don't get the rain.

That sinkhole is a BIG one. Had to check in with one of my techs who lives in Land O'Lakes. 1.5 miles away. Too close for comfort. Very unfortunate for those who lost all. I'm glad we don't get them over here - or very rarely.

Had a 3 pixel shower earlier that wet about 50% of the pavement and registered .01" in the gauge. Better rain chances return Sunday unless it keeps getting pushed out. Earlier in the week Friday was the day, then Saturday, now Sunday.

inland. Coverage will become more scattered through the afternoon
hours as activity shifts westwards over the interior and Gulf coast.
The primary threats will be frequent lightning and brief gusty winds.

Scattered to locally numerous thunderstorms are possible each day,

SINKHOLES.............................Many sinkholes form when acidic rainwater dissolves limestone or similar rock beneath the soil, leaving a large void that collapses when it's no longer able to support the weight of what's above, whether that be an open field, a road or a house.
Sinkholes are particularly common in Florida, which rests on a nearly unbroken bed of limestone, according to the Florida Sinkhole Research Institute. They often happen in Central Florida, including the Tampa area.

I Guess that's why the experts suggest you direct the flow from your roof downspouts away from your house so the rain water flows away not right down into the ground huh..ive always done that myself. even without knowing about sinkhole dangers.

Morning.  Low to mid 90's forecast here today with zero chance for rain.  I haven't weeded my front bed in awhile so need to tackle that today.  Looks like a good chance to sweat out 5 lbs under full sunshine.
