Howdy everyone!
It's hot and humid here. Â I did have little surprise shower this morning that gave me .15". Â Not a lot, but at the rate this month is going, I'll take every tenth I can get!
Largo, that coast to coast trail is very cool!

According to the interwebs the average cyclist rides 40-60 miles per day. Â If you're an elite cyclist (like the Tour de France), they go over 100 miles per day in many of the race stages. Â Depending on your fitness level and how much a cycling enthusiast one is I would guess anywhere from 2 to 10 days to make the trek coast to coast. Â I guesstimate for those who "only" ride 15 miles per day or so with my 10 day.

Morning. 60% chance of PM thunderstorms with a high of 96 and heat index 105 today. A tad steamy but that's ok.
Unless in a drought, I don't run my sprinklers. No reason to if it's raining 2-3 times/week. Conserve water and save on the water bill.

Tons of lightning around this morning. Almost constant rumbles. Beginning to calm down a bit now. After yesterday's 0.6, the pool shows another half inch so far this morning. I'm not going out to check yet. Dang! The ground shook with that one!

Re: CLOSED 7-1-17 Florida/Alabama Weather
NWS Melbourne........SAT JUL 22 2017
.NOW...
...Thunderstorms will quickly increase in coverage early this
afternoon...
Conditions remain very favorable for a widespread coverage of
thunderstorms again today as it remains very moist and steering
winds will move storms from the western side of the peninsula into
the interior and to the east coast this afternoon. In addition, the
east coast sea breeze will form just inland from the coast around mid
day, triggering other, more isolated storms during the early
afternoon. The greatest coverage during the early afternoon will be
over the interior, then will shift toward the east coast during
the mid to late afternoon.
Storms today will produce torrential rain of 2 to 3 inches in less
than an hour, which will lead to areas of minor flooding. Frequent
cloud to ground lightning will also be a hazard. Move to a safe
location indoors when you hear thunder. The strongest storms today
may also produce strong and gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph in a few
locations.
Due to recent heavy rain...Shingle Creek at Campbell has risen to
within one foot of flood stage. Additional heavy rain in the
immediate area today may cause an additional rise of the creek.
Residents near Shingle Creek in Campbell City, Poinciana and
Intercession City should remain alert to changes in the creek level
and listen to advice from local authorities.
