Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
JAX NWS doesn't have anything specific, but they do have the full time range for different locations on their eclipse page....
JAX NWS ECLIPSE PAGE
Miami/South FL NWS also has the same page with areas specific to their region on their eclipse page....
MFL NWS ECLIPSE PAGE
Tampa/Ruskin NWS has the same page, in addition to a Facebook post:

The countdown to the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21 continues! For West Central and Southwest Florida we will see a partial solar eclipse with maximum obscuration amounts ranging from 86% in Cheifland, Levy County, to around 78% in Fort Myers, Lee County. The time of maximum obscuration will be between about 2:45 and 2:55 PM EDT across the area. More details and safety information about the eclipse can be found on the following web page: http://www.weather.gov/source/crh/eclipse.html?sid=tbw
TBW NWS ECLIPSE PAGE
MLB NWS has a graphic on their Facebook page, but no chart on their NWS page.
Mobile is the loser of the bunch with regards to % of obscuration, but that won't matter since Gomey is headed to KY for the event.

Thanks for the info! I guess I should've planned ahead and bought eclipse glasses. Doubt I can find them now.

Not looking good for cloud cover during the eclipse in the JAX area, and bummer for the midwest which would have a great view.

Billsfan, the way I look at it is..... there will be a ton of pics on social media, so I just want to see the transition of coverage without having to look directly at the sun.

I'm not trusting this 92L. It should have very conducive conditions as it nears the Bahamas. I'm not saying this will happen, but Katrina was just a wave, then a TD, then quickly became TS Katrina, and developed into a hurricane two hours east of Florida. It caught many off guard, caused widespread damage (mostly trees but still) We lost power for 6 days.

Yes and correct, it could dissipate or do numerous other things.
I'm just not trusting it for some reason.

I somehow cant explain why...no NWS in florida is mentioning 92l other than a slight possible strengthening over the days to come...IF it does go fast to TS or higher..a lot of people on the east coast might get caught off guard huh

Largo, in reading the NWS Ruskin scientific forecast, it seems they think that 92L will not develop into much, but really help to increase the moisture at the end of the week going into the weekend. A front will sag southward into the peninsula late in the week and really help wring the moisture out. Hopefully it will bring you the rain you have been looking for. I on the other hand am ready for an end to the rainy season. It has been rainy here since late July and I would gladly take some drier air and maybe some cooler conditions. Sometimes they occur here in September, but normally we don't see a big change until October.

well we have today-Tuesday and possibly Wednesday to see any model changes..one site is saying 92 could speed up and come in Tuesday sometime.....that would be good..no time to build up strengeth..now if..it decides to slow down or stall a day over that very warm gulf stream current between florida and the bahama's..look out.

Billsfan....so far...most of the models that bring 92L ashore..bring in into or near your area...so if you can..when and IF this happens...IF you can..let us know how it is?....hopefully the tracks will change over the next day or so..i'll keep posting the tracks etc...and so far..no NWS or NHC warnings or even mention it coming ashore here ok...lets see what they are saying tomorrow etc...good luck down there ok.

Will do Largo. Thanks for keeping track. I too am thinking the worst scenario that is would stall in between us and Bahamas. I have plenty of food and water, the only thing we do not have is generator gas.

ok its good your ready and prepared..hopefully at worst by you it would be a weak TS..i guess you can handle that...what I'm worried about..is if it gets into the gulf and builds up then comes ashore here and crosses back to the atlantic.....we'll see how this plays out next few days..i'll keep watching the models and should it build..i'll for sure post it ok...stay safe my friend.BillsfaninSoFla wrote:LargoFL wrote:Billsfan....so far...most of the models that bring 92L ashore..bring in into or near your area...so if you can..when and IF this happens...IF you can..let us know how it is?....hopefully the tracks will change over the next day or so..i'll keep posting the tracks etc...and so far..no NWS or NHC warnings or even mention it coming ashore here ok...lets see what they are saying tomorrow etc...good luck down there ok.

from mikes weather page................Invest 92 making a beeline towards Florida. Crossover seems likely. Starting to pop some convection. Needs time though to form. Maybe as it passes over South Florida and the Florida west coast it has a better shot. We will know soon. www.spaghettimodels.com / Mikes Weather

for myself I'm expecting heavy rains..along with some strong wind gusts...hopefully no Hurricane force wind gusts..its the huge tree's around me I'm worrying about...and yeah I guess power outages could happen..maybe...and then again it IS possible it never does form and stays just a wave with some rain huh.

Latest CMC has TS-92 coming ashore tues evening, crosses florida to the gulf, then comes back across Fla..still a TS into ATL and developes into a Hurricane..goes up the coast and into the Carolina's as a hurricane...its the CMC I'm watching for sure...GFS and Euro cant seem to get their act together with this storm...stay alert folks next few days ok.
