Morning All,
I don't see Largo. I have a friend that lives in Largo and his power went out last night. So if Largo isn't on he might have been affected.

my neighbor who evacuated up to Virginia, drove back yesterday, took over 17 hours, real heavy traffic(mostly florida plates) all the way down, some detours from flooding and a few bad accidents etc...they said they wont evacuate ever again lol..well I told them as rough as it was for them, at least they are safe, we here lucked out bigtime, some horror stories coming out of the keys and south florida...in Georgia all the exits were closed, they figured flooding, and gas..was extremely hard to find..

did anyone see on the news..where that tremendously HUGE oak tree feel over on the house next door..the root system was so huge it picked up most of the lawn with it...the lady was sitting actually under her lawn and base of tree on the news..this is about 6 blocks from me so you KNOW the winds were over 80-90 mph here to take down a tree that size...tree must be over 100 years old or more...well all in all no house damage and thank goodness the roof held firm...we lucked out this time.

Windspeed, gusts, and pressure in Pinellas county during the storm.  From weatherstem, not sure how well the 10 minute gusts smooth out the peaks.

NWS Tampa......Fri Sep 15 2017

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected.
Thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing strong
gusty winds...locally heavy rains... and frequent deadly lightning
strikes.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Many area rivers continue in moderate to major flood stages as a
result of high rain totals from Hurricane Irma. Most have crested
or are near crest or will crest during the next couple of days.
Any additional rainfall will exacerbate river flooding and
residents living along rivers or faster flowing streams should
remain aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground
should flooding be observed or worsen.

Good Morning john!,hope you get the power back on later today,i had it out about 24 hours or so..then just a couple of blips but seems to be ok this morning, plenty of cable repair vans all around here yesterday..yes we sort of lucked out bigtime, yesterday I talked to a few neighbors who had minor damage around their houses but for the most part ALOT of tree damage by me...everyone has huge mounds of tree and plant debris on the curb, supposedly being picked up Monday, along with all the fence parts that were blown apart..but all in all, very lucky here....ok on the coffee john, I'm on the second cup already..well have a great day up there ok.

NWs Melbourne....Fri Sep 15 2017

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Deep moisture and the inland moving east coast sea breeze will
focus scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly across the
interior during the afternoon and early evening hours. Cloud to
ground lightning strikes, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds
to 35 to 40 mph will be the main thunderstorms hazards.

.FLOOD IMPACT...
Isolated stronger storms may produce locally heavy rainfall
amounts to 2 to 3 inches, which could worsen any ongoing flooding
in some locations.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
A moderate risk of rip currents will exist along area beaches of
east central Florida today. The greatest threat for rip currents
will be during the late morning and mid day hours due to tidal
effects. Always swim near a lifeguard.

.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
Stronger storms across the interior may impact inland lakes with
wind gusts up to 35 knots.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Larger swells to 6 to 7 feet from Jose will begin to impact the
east central Florida offshore waters mainly beyond 30 nautical
miles offshore late tonight.

.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
River levels along the Saint Johns are forecast to
continue to slowly rise near Cocoa, Geneva, Sanford and Deland
through late week as runoff into the basin moves slowly downstream.
River levels in minor to moderate flood stage are either occurring
or forecast for these locations. The river level at Astor is
forecast to remain nearly steady in moderate flood and then start a
slow fall this weekend but still remain above flood stage into next
week. The river above Lake Harney near Geneva is forecast to remain
in major flood into this weekend. In addition, record flooding is
occurring on Shingle Creek with flooding impacts reported.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
Large swells from Tropical Cyclone Jose are forecast to produce a
high rip current risk this weekend. Rough surf is expected and
additional beach erosion is probable.

As Jose moves northward off the eastern seaboard, drier air will
filter toward east central Florida late this weekend and early
next week. Thunderstorm chances will be limited at best Sunday
into the middle of next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed today.

That's where Irma was supposed to go,. I'm not freaking but we are exhausted. Stress and no power will do that. And generator needs more repair than hubby can figure out. No companies that do repairs are taking in machines. The motor is fine. The oommph part is issue. We apparently didn't make it work hard enough, like letting it run refrigerators for a few hours, generators are made to work. And I mean twice yearly let it work. Any ideas guys and gals?

Good morning all. If gomey pops back in this is something that may be in his wheelhouse. Or Swiss Miss but she hasn't been around for awhile. Or you can try some online searches to see if there are any troubleshooting video's. I don't have a generator so can't offer any help.

Morning everyone!

I hope everyone came through Irma with nothing more than property damage. :-) Had a bit of damage here and of course no power, but the power is back on and the AC has never felt so good!!

Hi Billsfan,
Tell your hubby to check the 120v switch. The one that turns the power on for the electric to flow. Sometime they get weak from not being used. I had to replace mine on my 5500 watts. Just a thought!
Hope that helps

As I understand this 96L track will depend on where Jose is. Jose could cause a weakness and pull it north. If it don't all bets are off. we need to pay attention to 96L.

That's what I'm hoping for.  Let it recurve 200-300 miles off the east coast.

Edit: congrats on power restoration!

AUG one of the model runs took 96 into the FLA/GA border area..but in 9-10 days tracks will change..all of us need to watch this one for sure, pleanty of time yet to watch and wait...so far its from north Florida all the way up to the Carolina's and just about every model has it coming into one of those states..so far anyway..but GFS_CMC and the EURO all say coming ashore.

Yep Largo, plenty of time to go for sure. We'll see exactly where it's located once it's further west.

96L is now PTC15. It didn't take the WSW bend like Irma did in the ATL but as of the 11AM advisory it is in an eerily similar area with eerily similar track. That by no means indicates it is Irma the sequel but I find it interesting.

Not sure if non Facebook users can see this but stumbled upon it yesterday. It is hypnotic. Look how "weak" the storm was over FL compared to earlier in the loop.
