Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Fall Season weather
NWS Melbourne............THU NOV 30 2017
.NOW...
...Isolated Showers Will Affect Saint Lucie and Martin Counties...
Weak high pressure to the north will produce a light northeast wind
flow under partly sunny skies. A few showers will move toward the
southwest at 10 to 15 mph from Saint Lucie and Martin counties to
Lake Okeechobee. High temperatures will reach the lower 80s most
areas...except upper 70s along the Volusia coast. These temperatures
are about 5 degrees above normal for this time of year but no record
highs are expected. A northeast swell will produce a moderate risk
of rip currents at the beaches of east central Florida.

Yep, Inside/outside, bushes, tree etc.
Not like we did when the kids were young in the 1990's. Our whole streets went crazy decorating. We won first place in our city for ,6-7 years. At our peak I think we had about 8-10,000 lights on the house, roof, trees, bushes everywhere

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Fall Season weather
get ready folks........................NWS Tampa.....12/2.................Long range models continue to depict a rapid pattern evolution
Wednesday and beyond. A deepening trough across the Great
Lakes region will open up much of the Northern/Central
Plains to Arctic airmass intrusions. As repeat rounds of
Arctic air head southward, a cold front will dive south,
traversing Florida late Wednesday into Thursday. Showers and
possibly a few thunderstorms will accompany the front as it
moves through, bringing the best chance of widespread rainfall
we have seen since Thanksgiving.
Much colder air will spill in behind the front, with temperatures
ranging 10 to 15 degrees below normal. Highs Thursday and
Friday look to struggle into the lower 60s most areas.
Models also depict a pattern in which several weak
shortwaves may move across the Gulf of Mexico and across the
peninsula late Thursday into Friday, generating light post-
frontal precipitation. Should this occur, temperatures may
even be colder, as evaporative cooling occurs within a dry
near-surface airmass. Plenty of time for these details to be
worked out though. At the very least, confidence continues
to increase in this transition to much cooler temperatures
with highs late week in the lower 60s and lows in the 40s
most areas, and perhaps the middle/upper 30s north of I-4.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Fall Season weather
Good morning all. Do you have any pics from the past billsfan? That would be fun to see.
I decorate the exterior a bit but not much. Past years I had white icicle lights hanging on the house, multi-colored net style lights for some of the shrubbery, couple of lit props, candy canes and such lining the driveway. Think I'll just do the icicle lights this year. The lighting in the evening brings a sense of peace.
I bought a 9' artificial tree w/lighting on sale at Walmart 4 years ago. Will pull it out of the attic today and get it in place but need to do some slight rearranging of the living room beforehand.

and today up in Gainesville................................Don't miss this festive annual event as Gainesville's mayor calls for the giant tree to be lit. Children can bring their wish lists and plan on a visit with Santa while the whole family can get their fill of the delightful seasonal sounds of live holiday music and classic carols. Watch the snow falling at the Thomas Center entrance throughout the event and enjoy light refreshments.

NWS Mobile AL...................
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday
There is the potential for some strong storms to develop on Tuesday
ahead of a cold front that will be approaching from the west, but
the severe weather threat is still rather low at this time.
Much colder temperatures are expected during the mid to late part
of next week in the wake of the cold front. Lows on Thursday
night could reach the freezing mark, generally north of Highway
84. Lows on Friday night and Saturday night will be even colder
with sub-freezing temperatures as far south as the I-10 corridor.
Low temperatures at many interior locations of southeast Mississippi
and southwest Alabama will likely fall into the upper 20s and
lower 30s Friday night, with even more widespread overnight lows
in the upper 20s on Saturday night.

.NEAR TERM...Today and Tonight...Dense fog will affect se Ga and
parts of ne Fl mainly along and north of the I-10 corridor til
mid-morning. Surface high will shift further off the east coast

.SHORT TERM...WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...This period there is
the an anticipated big pattern shift and this is advertised by

knots developing Wednesday night and especially Thursday with
PWATs between 1.20 and 1.40" across SE GA and between 1.40 and
1.75" across NE FL with scattered to numerous stratiform showers
overspreading the region. Abundant cloud cover, light rain and
cold air advection will limit SFC heating by Thursday. There will
be a huge temperature disparity Wednesday as the cold front track
through the region with highs Wednesday in the mid 60s SE GA to
lower 80s across Marion County. Wednesday night lows will be in
the mid 40s SE GA to upper 40s to mid 50s Northeast Florida.
Thursday, highs will be quite different with highs mainly in the
50s except near 60 along the First coast to mid 60s north central
FL.
.LONG TERM...FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY...The deep, broad, long wave
trough will remain over much of the eastern and central CONUS. The
post-frontal moisture and overrunning will persistently reside
across the region, with overcast dreary cold conditions continuing
Friday with PoPs remaining high across most of our area with weak
isentropic lift. The clouds and rain will keep high temperatures
well below average Friday (upper 40s, SE GA to mid/upper 50s north
central FL). By Saturday night, a secondary surface front will
reinforce the cool air mass and scour out moisture from north to
south. Confidence is high in the prolonged cold temperatures will
continue for our forecast area through the weekend. Temperatures
near to below freezing are likely across large portions of the
interior SE GA this weekend. Highs this weekend will also be below
normal, with highs generally in the 50s with near 60 north
central FL. By early next week, the surface ridge will reside over
the region with strong zonal flow aloft allowing temps to
moderate back to slightly below normal to normal and as surface
winds become more westerly.

.NEAR TERM...Today and Tonight...Dense fog will affect se Ga and
parts of ne Fl mainly along and north of the I-10 corridor til
mid-morning. Surface high will shift further off the east coast
while inverted trough over the Atlantic waters weakens allowing
winds to veer to the se today. Above normal temperatures will
occur today with highs reaching the lower 80s inland. A cold front
to the nw will push towards southeast Georgia by late tonight
bringing a chance of showers to interior se Ga. Areas of fog
possible again tonight mainly over ne Fl where less cloud cover is
expected.
.SHORT TERM...WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...This period there is
the an anticipated big pattern shift and this is advertised by
model guidance. A broad long wave trough will prevail over much of
the central and eastern CONUS, and a high-amplitude ridge over
the west. An attendant cold front will move into SE GA during
Wednesday morning and the cold front will move just north of the
FL/GA by mid afternoon. The front will then continue to weaken as
it slides through the region on Wednesday. Scattered to numerous
showers are expected north and west of a line from Ponte Vedra to
Gainesville, with nil to a slight chance of a shower south of this
line Wednesday afternoon. The attending cold front will push into
north central Florida Wednesday evening and work its way thru
central FL overnight. Models have the SW flow holding strong above
925 mb overriding a shallow northerly flow with LLJ of 35 to 40
knots developing Wednesday night and especially Thursday with
PWATs between 1.20 and 1.40" across SE GA and between 1.40 and
1.75" across NE FL with scattered to numerous stratiform showers
