We were actually under a tonardo warning around 3 pm. I was getting a haircut and about 10 phones alerted. Every one was like "what's going on?" To a unison of "tornado warning" lol

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
305 AM EDT Sat Apr 28 2018

.SHORT TERM (Today through Sunday)...
Early morning water vapor satellite imagery is showing an
upper level shortwave trough rotating through the
northeastern Gulf of Mexico, while the longwave trough axis
swings through the Great Lakes and Midwest. This shortwave
will help continue to sweep a fairly dry airmass into the
Florida Peninsula today, with dew points already dropping
across the area from what were seen Friday morning. This
will result in dry and seasonably warm conditions this
afternoon, with clear skies and high temperatures in the low
to mid 80s. Northwest winds will become slightly breezy
this afternoon, mainly along the coast over southwest
Florida.

On the Sunday, the longwave trough will dig into the Mid-
Atlantic region as the surface builds into the
southeastern US and Gulf of Mexico. Winds will turn to
northeasterly, allowing for perhaps a few more clouds, but
generally dry and rain free conditions continuing.
Temperatures will be slightly warmer than today, with highs
generally in the mid 80s.

Morning. Glad you got some rain bills. SPC does have a confirmed tornado from yesterday in your area.

UPDATE TO PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TORNADO... THE NWS CONDUCTED A STORM SURVEY AND CAN CONFIRM AN EF0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN CORAL SPRINGS THIS AFTERNOON. DAMAGE WAS MOSTLY TO TREES AND VEGETATION. THE TOP OF TREES HAD TREE BRANCHES SNAPPED AND BROKEN OFF.

Been busy at work the past week so haven't checked the weather too much. Looks about perfect here the next 7 days. Highs ranging from 78-84 with lows ranging from 58-64.

If anyone has family in KS/OK, SPC already has a 30% prob in their day 5 forecast for large hail and possible strong tornado's. That's a strong probability being that far in advance. Might be at least a moderate risk day when it arrives and the forecast fine tunes itself in time.

In other news, had a rep from my insurance company meet another roofing company I've been talking to this past Wednesday to survey the damage from the hail storm on April 10th. Now I need to wait on the adjuster to come out. One guy did a drone flyover (that was kinda cool) and the other gang got up on the roof. I have "spider marks" everywhere. I should be a slam dunk for a new roof. Here's a couple pics of the spider marks (not mine).

Current state (this is what my roof looks like x several hundred)

Future state if repairs aren't done.

Hey Aug, how large were the stones that pock marked your roof?  That’s incredible damage and something I wouldn’t expect seeing on asphalt especially architectural shingles. Do they do tear offs down here or add a layer?  How old is the roof? Will the ins co prorate the shingles or give you full replacement?

PT, the largest were 3" in diameter, smallest maybe 1" with most somewhere in between. That's not my roof but the "before" pic may as well be mine. My current shingles are standard. Architectural would be the replacement.

Do they do tear offs down here or add a layer? - Many neighbors (pre-storm) have already put on new roofs. They tear it down to the plywood.

My roof is 15 years old. Hoping for full replacement with the $500 deductible.

Not my vid but the experience was the same.

Holy Mackerel! That video is impressive! Hope you get a new roof on before the rains come. Hail that size could be devastating to wildlife, foliage and livestock.

Well you can’t outrun it that’s for sure. And trees won’t provide any shelter from stones that large. Too bad those horses didn’t have a run in shed of some sort! We had a hobby farm before we moved to FL. No garage for vehicles but we had a barn. Depending on time of year we could get truck and car in for bad spring wx. Otherwise it was full of hay, chickens, horses and tractor.

I glanced over at WU.  Hailstones that large for sure are no joke!  The one from Argentina had me crying foul as I only saw 3-4 stones landing in the same spot leading me to believe someone was chucking ice.

Aug -only a $500 deductible? -that's good. We had over a $3000-4000 deductible with our Wilma claim. Maybe because it was a named storm. ??

Morning all.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing any chances of rain (aside from extreme south FL) for the next 2 weeks. Maybe the south FL rain chances are an indicator of the rainy season beginning as it moves up the peninsula. It's about that time of year.

It is nothing but hot hot hot here! Haven't had a sprinkle this week and not a drop forecast over the next 7 days. The temps are going to ramp up a bit more into the upper 80s.

Nice temps to get the farmers tan going.

I've got a few more nice days to open up the house from morning through mid-afternoon before the AC kicks on a few times prior to sunset. Looks like those days end beginning Thursday.

Rip currents: There is a moderate risk of rip currents along the
Atlantic beaches of South Florida.

Wind: East-northeast winds will increase to around 20 knots over the
open Atlantic later this evening and overnight. Winds are expected to
increase to 15 to 20 knots over the offshore Gulf waters.

Fire Weather: There will be enhanced fire conditions this afternoon
due to low relative humidities across the western interior areas of
South Florida. While east-northeast winds will be gusty this
afternoon at around 10 mph, speeds are expected to remain below 15
mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Strong high pressure will remain to our north through the remainder
of the work week, leading to hazardous boating conditions in the
local Atlantic waters. The risk for rip currents along the Atlantic
beaches is expected to become high on Tuesday, with the risk
continuing into the upcoming weekend.
