rain has stopped here ..seems like an on-off-on rain event which is good, gives the water time to soak in instead of running off into the street.

it looks like all the bad wind events so far have been over on Florida's east coast, hardly a breeze over here on the gulf side.

Good afternoon. I haven’t checked the CoCoRaHS as of yet but the rain has been light and misting at times. Basically a cloudy day no wind no drama. I’m hopeful we get some decent numbers outta this system but as of yet my sprinkler is winning!

Afternoon all!  I've come to the conclusion that when the NWS predicts alot of rain, run the sprinklers anyway. Only .25 inch here in Spring Hill since midnight. Hope everyone are doing well and hopefully we will get decent rain.   Phil

So far, so good by me Largo, but, my area hasn't been in the heaviest rain zone though. I'm sure some areas are starting to flood.

I'll check the rain gauge when I get home, but I'm thinking around 1.5 inches? (unless it rained really hard overnight and I didn't hear it)..

Yep. EF0 tornado touched down in Palm Beach somewhere.

good luck everyone!

Hi y'all, glad to see everyone checking in. Largo, thanks for all of the updates throughout the day - I'm busy with work and in the zone, so I don't have time to see what's happening.

I had .22" at 7am from overnight drizzle. I've had some very light rain today but haven't been out to check the gauge yet - I'm guessing about .25" maybe if I'm lucky! Radar looks like I might get a better soaking this afternoon.

Good afternoon. Nothing of significance to report here. Had .10" in the gauge at 7AM. On/off light rain for most of the day amounting to an additional .41". Looks like a brief shower is soon to move in with potentially a heavier rain in a couple of hours. We shall see. That's fine with me though. I'll take 1/2" all day, every day.

With off and on light rain yesterday afternoon and a brief downpour this AM I am now up to .80" for the event. No bad weather here, just a good soaking rain. It has been really rumbling out in the Gulf this AM, but that line is training northward into Dixie County and will miss me.

Largo, I am not buying what the GFS is selling. Seems it has a strange fascination with creating storms in fantasy land when others are not. If the other models start coming in line then I will start to pay attention, but until then, business as usual. And for storm supplies, I think most long time Floridians have a handle on what we should stock up on to be prepared. It is the newbies that I think might forget things. Also, I think there are a lot of people who just feel that the government will come in and rescue them and provide them with food, water and essentials. Believe it or not, that is exactly what has happened here in Levy County with the last few storms. There have been trucks of MREs, bottled water and bug spray shipped in quickly for those who didn't prepare.

Morning All,
I in the bucket for this event 1.08 so far.
Nothing really heavy or bad storms as of yet.
Always a good idea to stock up Largo. We will see what happens near the end of the month. It has been on the GFS for sometime now.
Have a great day all!!

Good morning! Never can have too much bottled water IMO. I like to start the work week with three cases (30 pack) off season, and at least five during hurricane season. Hubby could not go with me to Walmart last weekend so we "only" have one plus so definitely time to stock up.
This reliance on the government to "come to the rescue" after hurricanes has gotten ridiculous and out of control. After Wilma, you had people screaming for diapers etc... Since when is it the Government's responsibility to supply diapers? It was sickening to watch the behavior of some. People need to take some (a lot) of personal responsibility is what I have to say about that!

Sunny and humid this morning. Radio met said 70% chance of rain this afternoon? We shall see!

Have a good day all! Smile
