About time to fire up the BBQ here. Bone-in ribeye with mashed potato's and a veggie.

That modeled low is 1007 MB Largo. I'll take one of those all day every day. Now if they get below 985'ish.......

Dang it, Largo. Can we get past Alberto first? Laughing

Just checked radar. Do we have landfall? Apalachicola?

I haven't checked past radar loops to see if Apalachicola got clipped for an official landfall. The panhandle takes a dip south there. Circulation is a bit west of there at the moment over water. Looks to come ashore (2nd time??) between Panama City and Destin.

Looks like it took a jog to the west just before landfall, towards Pt St Joe and Mexico beach. Probably a lot of beach erosion on Cape San Blas as well

Sorry, I didn't mean to be misleading, the 14-16 guesstimate wasn't just for Alberto, goes back to last weekor so when my rains started piling up. I saw "officially"14.92 for Fort Lauderdale so far for the month. I'm guessing at the airport

A few more thunderstorms thru S.Jax this afternoon/evening. 1" at Mom's; 1.7 at Sis' a couple miles away. .5 once again at the homestead.

Is there anyone lacking rain at this point? As we enter the rainy season???

Morning y'all!!

Looks like the pattern starts to get back to normal around here.  I put all of my plants that are prone to root rot under the eaves of the house in preparation of the "deluge," but now I will take them out this morning.

Convection around the center of Alberto looked best after landfall, IMO.... btw.  Smile

Good morning all. Had a decent weekend, a little wetter than I like it though. However, it appears to me that the widespread heavy rainfall from Alberto never really materialized for one reason or another. I ended up with 2.5" for the three day event, but that included off and on rainfall for most of Sunday and Monday. In reality that is fairly light rainfall when the models were hinting at 4-6 inches. Also, we were fortunate with the timing of the storm as it didn't cause any flooding in Cedar Key as the tide had started to fall when the stongest winds started blowing onshore yesterday afternoon. Max winds I saw were 30-35 knots, but nothing we don't see in normal afternoon T-storms. If this was our tropical event for the season I will take it all day everyday.

good morning WD..local met said the dry air intrusion that swept into Florida saved us from most of the flooding, heavy rainfall that was predicted to come our way...guess we lucked out this time.

Good afternoon. Bookmarked your link St Pete. I'll need to explore it a bit.

HRRR has been consistent on heavy rains here late afternoon with the seabreeze collision. Looks like things are beginning to gel. ECSB has pushed through just west with an outflow boundary moving east from the storms just west. If it's gonna pop it'll be soon.

Good morning. I caught .10" in the rain bucket yesterday. Looks like a big batch of rain is heading my way this AM. I am ready for our normal Summer pattern to set in. Enough with the moisture plume from the south. I did notice the models are hinting at a drying period for the state starting in about a week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ha, ha.  Went to check out the Don Cesar/St. Pete beach web cam to see what it looked like offshore... I'm thinking not.  I guess Don Cesar doesn't want to advertise what it looks like offshore, been a long time since it was this sunny and calm.
