River flooding is expected along the Little Manatee River At
Wimauma and the Manatee River Near Myakka Head. Residents living
along rivers or faster flowing streams should remain aware of
water levels and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
be observed.

Morning. Not much action here yesterday. All the storms stayed north or west. Had a brief shower that dropped .04" - barely enough to wet the street. At least it stayed cloudy for a few hours to cool the temps a tad.

Good luck on some rain all.

Looking at radar early morning seems there is virtually no steering in the northern half of the state. Might need a storm to literally pop overhead to get some rain.

Good afternoon everyone. Another dry, hot day . Getting old!
I stayed inside and did some fun things like clean the bathrooms and laundry.

It is a shame about the algae problem .I wish the powers that be would just leave Lake O alone! Don't mess with Mother Nature .

Ugh, I hate indoor chores!

Had a storm pop overhead and it turned into a good one.  Lots of cloud-to-ground lightning,  strong winds, and heavy rain.  Not sure what the gauge tally is as it's still raining with some occasional thunder but has to be easily over an inch.  It was needed since only .65 had fallen the first half of the month.

Edit: Rains are done, skies are clearing. Checked the gauge. 1.87" from the storm.

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to
develop this afternoon over the interior. Isolated activity will be
possible elsewhere. The main threats should consist of brief heavy
rain leading to ponding of waters on roadways, cloud to ground
lightning, and brief gusty winds.

Wind: Thunderstorms will be capable of producing winds up to around
45 mph.

Waterspout: Isolated waterspout activity will be possible today over
all coast waters.

Temperature: Heat index values will rise to 105-107 degrees across
eastern portions of Palm Beach County, as well as along the Gulf
Coast region.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast for the remainder
of the week each afternoon and early evening over the interior
region. Lightning will be the main hazard.

High temperatures may rise a few degrees above normal in the low to
mid 90s through mid-week, potentially bringing several hours of heat
indices in the 102F to 107F range during the late morning and early
afternoon for the southern interior and Gulf Coast regions.

morning John, wow that must have been a real heavy rain there..congrats..its been very dry by me last few days

Just walked my dogs in the park, hot and humid here but..in looking at the clouds out in the gulf and wayyyy up they are in the sky..mights be some strong Thunder Storm's later on today..good luck to who does get the rain!!

for myself im believing the GFS model, its been doing a good job this season on long term predicting Tropical things, so for myself, im watching the gulf first week of August..we have our storm supplies already  so we'll wait and see IF anything does comer my way...have YOU got the supplies and preps ready?..NHC says by now everyone should be prepared

well weather wise local met is saying only a 20-30% chance for a shower here..hope one does come by me today

Very spotty showers around here -- I may have caught the edge of 1 for ~.05".

Rain chances seem to be looking higher the rest of this week and into next, but there appears to be some local disagreement on the pop numbers at this point. Been very hot and dry for the last week or so, and am holding off on the sprinklers as long as I can. Hope this pans out for some west coast rains.
