Morning. Thanks Largo. I leave tomorrow morning and will be back next weekend. Going to Iowa first then Missouri. It's 1150 miles one way so I'll stay overnight (hopefully Mt Vernon IL) then drive 4 hours on Sunday. Looks like some rain along the way so I'll pace myself.

Lucky you Largo! Today's rain is probably two miles west of me which means nothing for me. We did get a brief shower off of the Atlantic last night. I thought that was weird.

Morning Largo and all you other folks who sleep in on the weekend!

Spent the day at the folks doing manual labor in our lovely Florida heat yesterday! Didn't even bother to change into swim suit and jumped right into the pool in the work clothes...lol Damn it was hot!

Hoping for a chance of a little rain today as I've had nothing the past two days - yeah, we start getting a little spoiled when we get into a pattern that brings us a bit every/every other day.

Hope everyone is doing well and Bills, hope your hubby is recovering from the TX Chainsaw Massacre accident!!

Largo- when we used to get rain normally it would come in the late afternoon and evening. Since the massive build up of concrete and steel, regular storms usually don't make it east of 95. Sad

Yep Largo the booming has been intense. I've had a couple of power surges but looks like it's trying to push east now. With light flow today, we could see an outflow boundary try to push back west this afternoon from the WCSB and ECSB collision inland.

NWS TAMPA...411 AM EDT Mon Jul 30 2018

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across west-central
and southwest Florida today. Although no organized severe weather
is anticipated, thunderstorms that develop will be capable of
producing strong gusty winds...locally heavy rains... and frequent
deadly lightning strikes. Heavy rainfall from persistent
thunderstorm clusters on top of already saturated soils in many
areas is likely to lead to localized flooding.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Many local rivers and streams are running at elevated to flood
levels. Additional rainfall expected today will have the potential
to result in additional river rises from what is currently
forecast. Residents living along rivers and streams should remain
aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground
should flooding be observed.

No rain here all weekend, then the bottom fell out around 4 AM this morning. Lots of flashing and booming to go along with it. No flooding issues here, but we are definitely saturated and it wouldn't take much for flooding to occur. I thought we were shifting to the afternoon T-storm pattern. What happened, did it already switch back to the AM showers again?

Afternoon folks from pleasant Iowa. I arrived around 11 AM CT yesterday morning and been helping my mom with stuff. Yesterday was 75, last night 55, today 78-80. Anyone jealous? lol Slow warming trend tomorrow but mom/I are headed to my brothers in Missouri for a few days. Temps are to slowly warm to the upper 80's by the time I begin the drive back home on Friday.

Trip up was great weatherwise until I got to east central Missouri then ran into a 100 mile stretch of rain - which was heavy at times. Local met from Quincy, IL said the area had widespread 1-3" from that cluster.

Hope all are well and stay safe!

There was a nice batch of rain up this way earlier.  I have about .6" sitting in the guage but that might be it, as it looks like things are drying out in the Pasco County hole.  Smile

NWS TAMPA...448 AM EDT Tue Jul 31 2018

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across west-central
and southwest Florida today. Although no organized severe weather
is anticipated, thunderstorms that develop will be capable of
producing strong gusty winds...locally heavy rains... and frequent
deadly lightning strikes.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Many local rivers and streams are running at elevated to flood
levels. Additional rainfall expected today will have the potential
to result in additional river rises from what is currently
forecast. Residents living along rivers and streams should remain
aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground
should flooding be observed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
A wet pattern...characterized by scattered to numerous
thunderstorms will continue across west-central and southwest
Florida through much of the upcoming week. Although no organized
severe weather is anticipated, thunderstorms that develop will be
capable of producing strong gusty winds...locally heavy rains...
and frequent deadly lightning strikes. Heavy rainfall from
persistent thunderstorm clusters on top of already saturated soils
in many areas is likely to lead to localized flooding.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
River flooding will continue to be a concern on area rivers
through the remainder of the week. Areas of locally heavy rainfall
each day would contribute to further rises along area rivers if
the heavy rainfall falls within the river basin. Residents living
along rivers or faster flowing streams should remain aware of
water levels and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
be observed.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today.
