one news person yesterday said the largest population of Puerto Ricans live in central florida,perhaps some of them would be taking in their family members from PR...but where would we house the rest?..i sure hope they don't create camps etc..and are thinking permanent housing for them,perhaps building new neighborhoods?..im at a loss for idea's...that's one HUGE influx of people in maybe a short period of time....but surely they must be really suffering down in PR..no food no electric etc..maybe even no homes..the pics from down there are really horrible.

I heard on the radio this morning that they are shooting to have over 90% of power restored by December 15th or so.

I certainly hope that doesn't happen. We don't need any more people in Florida, especially ones that will be living off the Government. I feel bad what happened to them, but they should've been better prepared for the disaster. They weren't prepared at all and it's as if they don't want to help themselves. Their local government, their utilities etc... are all corrupt.

well rain has stopped here earlier,suns out but it seems like its cooler or drier here..just did some outdoor work and no sweating for a change.

well the airport 4 miles away got just over 2 inches..sounds about right here too...

throughout the forecast area. Skies over the island chain are
partly cloudy. Winds over land are south near 10 mph. C-MAN winds,
on average, are south to southwest at 10 to 15 knots. Temperatures
are in the mid to upper 80s.

.SHORT TERM (Tonight through Thursday night)...
A cold front will pass through the Florida Keys late tonight. An
area of high pressure will build eastward across the Gulf of
Mexico Wednesday and Wednesday night. This area of high pressure
will move to the northeast up the coast of the southeastern United
States Thursday and Thursday night. Rain chances in the short term
portion of the forecast will be highest tonight ahead of the
aforementioned approaching cold front.

.LONG TERM (Friday through Tuesday)...
An area of low pressure will be located over the northwestern
Caribbean Sea Friday and Friday night. This area of low pressure
may enter the southeastern Gulf of Mexico Saturday or Saturday

area of high pressure will remain north of South Florida early
next week. Rain chances in the long term portion of the forecast

seems all the models bring invest93 up to at least Tropical storm.......................

there might be some very heavy rain etc down in south Florida this weekend,at the very least expect some flooding concerns in some area's..hopefully 93 stays far enough away for only this to happen...would be wonderful IF it never does form huh.

Got a fair amount of rain yesterday.  About an inch here, much more on the Gulf side.  Pretty dramatic difference across the county

yes we were watching that line of storms coming into Pinellas last night,for me it was surely needed rainfall,everythings is great in my lawn etc now!

Afternoon all.... I've been busy and haven't really watched much news. The info out of Puerto Rico is horrible, but expecting FL to take in a half a million people is just not reasonable. If evacs have to occur, then they need to be spread out across multiple states so that resources are available.

I got almost 1.5" yesterday and have had the house open today. Am I a happy camper? You betcha!!!

Good Wednesday Morning folks!!..well real breezy here by me this early morning and not a cloud in the sky and a bit cooler too,looks like the second part of this cold front is blowing thru now..high temps only in the lower 70"s yessss!! LOL....well nothing new on our invest 93..still waiting but it is beginning to look like some heavy rainfall for south florida whenever this thing decides to get moving down there........well have a great day everyone!!

gee what a difference a few hours make,here I have a 15-20mph wind and its in the 60's and actually feels a bit cold..had to put on long pants and a sweater lol...guess this second part of the cold front is blowing thru here now..

Tonight...Open those window folks. Those that have awaited the end
of summer will love the feel this evening into the overnight as the
very dry low level airmass allows temperatures to quickly drop.
Looking at temperatures after sunset quickly dropping into the upper
50s and lower 60s away from the coast. By dawn Thursday, widespread
lower to middle 50s will be common, with some 40s likely across the
interior Nature Coast zones. Warmest spots (bottoming out around 60)
will be southern Pinellas County and the Islands/Capes of Charlotte
Harbor where the N/NE flow will have a trajectory off the water.

A cool, crisp 46 this beautiful morning at the homestead. Looks like we are headed to a perfect 70 degrees here by this afternoon. Too bad I am going to be stuck working in the office all day. Hope this weather sticks around for the next several months.

it seems like the Caribbean Low system gets embedded in the tail end of the front,regardless if it does indeed form or not..some really heavy rains might occur down there for this weekend..be careful driving etc.

still 4 days out or so...we need to watch this one closely......................

NWS Tampa long range discussion..this could go for all of Florida nws"s I-4 southward so far.........................DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

The risk of rip currents will increase by end of the week into early
this weekend along the east coast beaches of South Florida.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible over all of
South Florida on Saturday. The primary impacts will be lightning
strikes and heavy rainfall.

Marine conditions will deteriorate late this weekend into early next
week with another cold frontal passage in both the Atlantic and Gulf
waters of South Florida.

ok so some interesting weather coming for us Saturday and sunday,but it should be fast moving as the coming front will push it into the ATL..hopefully lol

we lucked out so far with this front coming on the weekend..will have a lot of shear with it,not giving invest 93 much time to develop..but..still 3-4 days out..things can change huh.

Hey all. Glad you’re liking this cool wx. We’ve got our windows open FINALLY and I’m gonna throw another blanket on the bed tonight. Ahhhh. I’ve still got shorts and a tank top on but sitting in sun CHEATING! I’m glad there will be a recovery as I’m not finished with my pool yet! Can you believe next month is Thanksgiving already? Prime rib or turkey? I’m in for rib.

Hi PT - I know, Thanksgiving will be here before we know it! Turkey for Thanksgiving, Christmas we do filet mignon, lobster or crab legs. , home made potato skins etc....

Hey Billsfan. That sounds really good for Christmas dinner. I can’t quite nail it down yet... maybe duck. We do king crab for New Years and mussels but none here that I’ve seen so far. Homemade potato skins- that sounds real good

PT. I haven't had duck since I was a little kid.
Potato skins aren't tough to make, just a little time consuming, but worth it. I'll give you recipe I you want.

Ya'll are making me hungry with the food talk. With the cool day and mid 40's temps tonight I have a potato soup simmering. Warm the belly, watch a little TV, then back to work at 9
