Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
well in most of the real weather sites,in their discussions..it seems all the model's arent handling 91L very well..either track or intensity wise....run to run they are all different,so we need to wait until it DOES get its act together and actually Form a storm, then maybe we'll see some better results..remembering its still 9-10 days away from getting close to us....and for myself..in the few weeks to come IM paying close attention to the one coming Behind 91L..as when it gets close..it will be almost at the peak of season and that's around sept 10th or that week anyway....more than enough time for us to get ready, just in case huh...and who knows..91L may NOT form huh..or change track and head north and away from the states like 99L is doing today...fingers crossed lol

Same here so cast a #4 vote. Been busy with a high profile project with many senior executives eyeballing for the installation of some of my companies ATM's at the new Atlanta Falcons Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Had a 2 minute shower (rain shower that is) earlier with .05" in the gauge. The nickel/dime August marches on.

Good Tuesday Morning folks...well the overnight GFS model takes a hurricane into eastern florida on the 26th..Euro goes under the islands and Cuba etc...we still cannot trust ANY of the model runs..wayyy too early yet..every day they are changing both in track and strength...just stay alert until they know for sure, quite possibly 1-2 days out ok...........well I have to go get my cars airbags replaced this early morning..seems they could explode and send out pieces of metal at you..defective they are....I'll be back later today.............well Blogs COFFEE is set to perk for when you get here..enjoy...have a great day everyone...and thanks a lot.

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
Let's make the Weather Great Again. I cast vote #5 that Largo posts whenever he wants!
Had a nice little shower this AM as I was heading out for work. Probably got between .10 and .25. There are more popcorn variety storms moving onshore currently, but none seem too strong due to the amount of dry air in the upper layers keeping them low capped.

yeah most models keep it below the islands and away from florida..and a lot of them bring it up to cat-2 or 3 whew...we don't need that around here for sure

I've got 93/115 according to the closest weather station to me. But who knows how accurate it is. Really doesn't matter, it's just PLAIN HOT. But at least there is light at the end of the tunnel with this heat easing up in roughly two months.

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
so it looks like..a very strong TS with some possible hurricane force winds and..it travels up the middle of the state and goes into the panhandle......lets wait till its 3-4 days out and see IF more models join in with this track..so far its only this one but..some of the ensemble models today do head it towards florida...we'll watch this closely..in the worst case.. we all will have several days to prepare and it wont surprise us ok.

well tropics wise only storm I'm keeping a close eye on is 92L,one good thing last nights run put 92L thru the florida straights into the gulf instead of..south florida then up the state...so still 8-9 days yet to see what the final route will be..too soon yet for anything to verify, lets see what the models say around this coming sunday.

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
interesting..about the eclipse from baynews9...........(clipped)..............If you miss this one, the next total solar eclipse to pass over the continental U.S. will be on April 8, 2024. That’s just seven years away but it will not be over Florida.
However, on Aug. 12, 2045, you won’t have to travel anywhere to see a total solar eclipse. It will go directly over our state.

As will I, Gomey. I am planning on the next one as well. I'll be somewhere between San Antonio and N of DFW (or Buffalo NY, or Youngstown, OH. Plenty of family around to leverage.
I'm heading to Jax on Friday, to pick up my nephew and little-sis's doggy, then on to Summerville SC (big sis's place) on Saturday. Little sis will have the parents, so we have an almost full family gathering.
I certainly will not have the equipment that Gomey has, but I've got the filters (level 12 shade) and hope to catch a full video and a multitude of camera shots. The best I've got is 300mm on the SLR.
I caught the 1970 eclipse, as a 9-year old Navy brat in Norfolk. I hope to get a 3-fer, of this 'once in a lifetime event'.
