Thanks Largo!
All the bad stuff north of me. I got five-ten minutes of rain at quitting time. I waited it out as I'm still recovering from the flu and I didn't want to get soaking wet.

Take care of yourself, BillsFan.
Glancing at the radar it looks like some decent coverage across the peninsula.
.6 here. Stopped a bit before I got home. Hoping to retain the clouds for another hour or 2.
Great full moon rises the last 2 mornings.
Work project is keeping me hopping. Good work, but lots of it. 6 hour daily webex calls are beginning to wear me down.
Hoping for a break in Jax over the holiday week.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama weather and Tropical weather affecting our states
NWS MELBOURNE...514 AM EDT Fri Jun 29 2018
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Light south to southwest wind flow in combination with plenty of
moisture will lead to numerous boundary interactions and development
of showers and thunderstorms over east central Florida later today
and into the evening.
The main hazard will be from lightning strikes, which will be
frequent in a few strong storms. Move inside as skies begin to
look threatening. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds will
also occur.
.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
A few storms over land areas, particularly along the east coast sea
breeze, will become strong and produce wind gusts around 30 to 40 mph.
Storms are expected to move slowly to the northeast, so mariners
on inland lakes and along the coast should move to safe harbor as
skies darken to the west.
.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
The Saint Johns River above Lake Harney near Geneva in the latest
forecast issued by the SERFC, is expected to reach minor flood
stage (ie. 8 feet) late Sunday night or Monday morning and remain
at this height through at least Tuesday. As we continue to experience
heavy rain each afternoon, the levels could rise above 8 feet during
the next week and the forecast will be adjusted accordingly.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected
through the period each afternoon and evening. A few strong storms
with frequent lightning strikes and quick 2 to 3 inch downpours
are expected each day where boundary interactions are most vigorous.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters are requested to monitor the weather and self activate
if needed.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama weather and Tropical weather affecting our states
TGIF. We had an amazing T-storm last night that started around 8:30 and lasted well into the night. The storm had heavy rain and LOTS of lightning and thunder. I ended up with 1.6" in the bucket, but several nearby stations reported up to 3". The best thing about this particular storm was how it formed. The storm started out as an outflow boundary from the collapsing storms that hit the inland counnties in the late afternoon. Once that ouflow boundary bumped into the West Coast sea breeze it fired off a pretty good line of thunderstorms that paralleled the coast from Taylor County to Citrus County. During this same time, a large line of storms was rapidly moving south out of Georgia and Alabama and this line merged with the sea breeze/outflow storms in the Nature Coast to produce the long lasting strong storm. It was very cool to watch on the radar as it was unfolding. Unfortunately, I didn't get a loop of the radar saved to share. If anyone knows how/where to look it up it is definitely worth viewing. I think this same complex of storms made it further south before dying out, but don't know if it was what hit Pinellas early this AM.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama weather and Tropical weather affecting our states
Thanks for the radar loops Aug. That MCS was quite impressive. I noticed it earlier in the day when it was in north GA and thought it would die down before it got to FL. That thing just kept on truckin. I heard it was quite strong in the panhandle and it was no slouch when it came in here.
