Re: ThunderboltWX Hurricane Contest
LMAO at NOLA..this is not WU where every storm must hit NOLA:)
but seeing how our atmosphere is forever changing fluid dynamics ,darts has a good of chance as any...
So,you may as well follow through and pull out a hurricane tracking chart and step back 7 paces add a blindfold and toss the dart, where ever it hits could be your city!!

My roommates/baseball teammates had a dartboard in college. I loved playing 301. Go for the trip 20's then nail the low number at the end to zero out for the win!

Re: ThunderboltWX Hurricane Contest
Well it's Memorial Day weekend meaning BBQ's ,Indy and the best part THANKS TO OUR MANY VETERANS FOR THEIR SERVICE AND OUR FREEDOM.
It also has meant one more thing since August of 1969 and my interest was sparked in tracking Hurricanes. My annual Hurricane season prediction.
This will be my 47th season of predictions.
Ok...Here goes.
15 Named storms.
6 storms become Hurricanes
3 Hurricanes become major Hurricanes
4 named storms will hit the CONUS (Three will be of hurricane intensity)
1 Major Hurricane will strike the United States
Why you may ask...
Simple El Nino will happen but will be weak. Since it takes a month or so for actual conditions to be felt after El Nino forms the full effect of even the weak El Nino wont be felt until late September I feel....Meaning the peak of the season may happen before the weak El Nino settles in. I also feel with the warmer than normal winter we just had that the SSTs will be maybe a degree higher than usual...so even with a weak El Nino, with that kind of jet fuel the SST's create the systems can fight the shear and develop.
as usual should I be wrong....I eat crow, fried stewed or nude!
For that reason I predict an above average season.
now for the tie-breaker....
Morehead city, North Carolina.
I just could not pick NOLA as it is far to close to me. If it hits NOLA I hope its head on eye wall first so some that west cast everything to NOLA can finally see a real hurricane and not a flood from a broken out dated dike.

Haha Gomey!!
I like your rationale behind the tie-breaker pick! Since Aug got his little panties in a wad about my prediction earlier in the blog, I will provide an updated prediction this weekend!
