LargoFL wrote:well my wife just told me around 12 30 pm or so we got a heavy down pouring rain here last night..wow I slept right thru it but whatever fell I really needed it.
I caught an unexpected pop-up a bit after sundown. A quarter inch in the bucket. Luckily, no towering offshore clouds this morning, so I caught the full moon, drinking my first cup of Largo's coffee.

Good morning Largo and friends.
Yes, they are even mentioning the remnants of #4 on the radio. Guess we shall see.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
1006 AM EDT Mon Jul 10 2017
...Scattered to Numerous Storms expected Today with locally heavy
rainfall and gusty winds...
.UPDATE...
Updated current trends for PoPs and cloud cover - otherwise
forecast remains on track. Weak Ridge axis remains across the
area. Southwest steering flow bringing ample moisture (KJAX
morning sounding showing 2.06 in PWAT) should support scattered
to numerous showers and storms developing along the sea breeze
fronts late this morning and early this afternoon. Decent mid
level lapse rates supported by 500mb temps of -7C/-8C will
support storm mergers and some stronger storms between the I-95
and US 301 corridors as sea breezes come together. Storm motion
from SW to NE will slow to around 10 mph or so this afternoon. Max
Temps should top out around 90 degrees or so before onset of most
convection with heat indices in the 100-105 range. Storm motion
towards the NE will push storms back towards the coast late in the
day.

Let's hope TD4 takes a sharp right turn and stays away from FL and the gulf. It's too early for this stuff.

Believe it or not we have missed out on a lot of the rain. Folks to the NSE have all gotten decent to heavy showers lately. And there are fires still burning, mostly on the periphery of FL, really amazing.

Good afternoon. Looks like ex TD4 is a fighter
Storms are really firing up south of Tampa Bay. Maybe a few of you will get good rains.
Had a few storms around the area earlier but nothing in my backyard. My eyes turn Ocala way for possible action after 6pm.

Looking better. The storm east of the bay has a Severe Thunderstorm Warning as of this post. Seems the storms are developing northward as they move off to the WNW/NW. San may be in the sweet spot (although she'll disagree, lol)

Those cells are moving quite swiftly but radar estimated rainfall shows a good swath of 1-2"

Looks like a slam dunk for many over that way. Storms are intensifying and expanding in coverage. Hope no last minute POOF which happens on occasion. You, St Pete, Largo, San all look in good shape.

Of course Palatka is currently in the thick of it. They are rain magnets.
