Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
It is beginning to look like yesterdays event up here has squashed the energy in the atmosphere and today is going to be a bust at least in the north western peninsula. I am fine with that as we got enough yesterday. Hope the energy shifts south so others can get some much needed rainfall, just hope the severe weather stays away.

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
My imgur isn't cooperating at the moment to put in a static loop but I would closely monitor the two cells off the Pinellas coast. Lead cell seems destined for Pasco County. The following cell has temporarily merged but taking a more NE than ENE trajectory. I would expect the cells to split shortly with the secondary cell inbound to Hernando or Citrus County.

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Looks like I may have spoken too soon. Once warned severe storm just came in north of me and is hitting southern Dixie and northern Levy currently. Another cluster is offshore heading this direction and looks like it will hit within the next 30 minutes if it holds together. Thanks for the good luck wishes for my son.

Looks like a bumpy ride for an hour or so StPete. Hope nothing more than a welcomed deluge.
Not much going on up here. Had a few small cells and distant rumbles of thunder earlier with a brief spit. Unless new convection fires current storms on radar will pass to my north and south.

Hey WD, hope your son does well at the sale!
I've had light rain for the most part, but the last 10min or so it picked up a bit. I'm guessing I'm probably around .5"-.6" about now.
Nothing nasty here today, but the warnings are flying in the eastern part of the county. I have had some of that nice rolling thunder though.

For those that have Facebook, I follow Florida Storms and they do a really good job of covering severe weather. They do not focus on just one market, but cover the entire state. They are streaming live today (although they just went to a 2 minute pause)

Got the mid or upper level low trailing behind with associated cold pocket setting the stage for the 12-18" snow dump in the NE. It's generally over the Ohio River Valley at this point.

Okay, I failed to dump my .12" out of my gauge this morning when I went out to check it... today has been a sucky day at work and I was in a hurry!
I currently have .55" in there, so in actuality I only have .43" for today. I'll take it though!!!!

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Hi All,
Since I got hosed yesterday I will do something different today.
My brother and son live in south central PA. So far they have 14 inches at my brothers and 11 at my sons house. Still snowing very hard at this hour.
So there something different.
Have a great day

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Good afternoon. .01" here yesterday but 1.29" the day prior so no complaints. What a difference a day makes - feels a little chilly outside with the much lower dewpoints and the gusty winds.
Here's a loop of the noreaster which will auto-update. Doesn't have the classic comma shape yet but, as John's family can attest to, it's putting on a pretty good show in the snow department.

Morning and TGIF. It is quite cold for late March. 35 degrees with frosty rooftops. Should rebound to near 70 later which will feel nice.

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Patchy frost and 34 here. I had 38 yesterday AM. This is looking like the last of the cold for the year. We will probably have a couple of cool fronts in April, but then it is on to the heat and humidity. Spring is always so dry in north central FL and I guess this one will be no different. I wonder what kind of rainy season we will have this year. Will the easterlies dominate with afternoon seabreeze convection or will we have troughs set up north of herer with SW flow bringing heavy showers in the morning along the west coast.

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Morning All,
Little nippy this am had 34 no frost that I saw.
Yesterday's low was 41.
Waterdipper I will take the sw flow for the rainy season. Last year was about 5 inches below and started out below this year. Its kind of dry already and yesterday there was a brush fire east of 98.
Have a great weekend all.

A bit chilly. But fine .
On another note, some of us don't do well with time change, but, we need to stay on standard, not daylight time Sun doesn't rise until 8:20 in winter? Prime time shows that start at 8, it will be 9 our time Noooo

Hey Bills, I was thinking about tv programming as well. Not that I watch much tv, but live sports will be an issue. My biggest beef is being in a totally different time zone from the rest of Eastern for 4-5 months out of the year. I find no benefit and only negatives to making this change. Just my two cents

I'm not sure what to think of the proposal to stay on daylight savings. Guess I'd rather things stay as is but I may think differently tomorrow, lol.
Nice weekend in store. 80 degrees both days.

This sorta crept up on me. I knew there was a chance of a few showers but the forecast (for now) is more bulliish.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 9pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 9pm and 11pm, then showers after 11pm. Low around 60. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

You're not the only outcast, JohnZ. I never moved off of DST this year. Driving to work around sunrise; after dinner walk by sunset. I'm not very motivated in the evenings, when it gets dark so early, and I don't care that much about the TV. I guess that I really don't care how the rest of the state goes, as long as I can be flexible with work, I'm good.
Go Jayhawks!!! The only team left that I wanted to see in the Final Four.

John and Aug- you both seem to long hours, so I understand you're preference to DST. I do enjoy seem live TV programs and dreading the thought of 8:00 pm show or event , it will be 9:00 pm here. We should not be a different time than the rest of the east coast . IMO
