Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
Sorry for the headache, Aug. And, yes; this was one of our better winters I believe. Some actual cold in January and March has been great! Sometime soon the house will be closed up for summer. I do hope we get some rain this week, and more than the current WPC is showing.

panhandle and northern florida stay alert when this gets to you......NWS TALLAHASSEE..............
.SHORT TERM [Tonight Through Saturday]...
The cold front will push southeastward across our area tonight
through early Friday afternoon with widespread convection
preceding it. This activity is expected to weaken as it moves from
west to east across our CWA, however, a few storms may become
briefly strong or severe over western zones from late this evening
into early Friday morning. The greatest severe threat with any
storm that develops will be damaging winds but an isolated tornado
cannot be ruled out. Surface high pressure and a much drier
airmass return to the region Friday afternoon through Saturday.
While max temps will only be slightly cooler with highs in the
upper 70s, min temps Friday night will drop into the upper 40s to
around 50 for most inland areas and lower to mid 50s along the
coast.
.LONG TERM [Saturday Night Through Thursday]...
Surface high pressure and dry conditions will prevail through
Tuesday before the next cold front brings a return of showers and
isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday. Highs will range from around
80 to the lower 80s each day. Lows will gradually moderate from
the upper 40s Sunday morning to the upper 50s to around 60 by mid
week.

Hi Largo,
I don't really think about the sea rise for my area. Im 85 ft above sea level.
The only things we find is sandy soil. Could be a interesting topic.

I'm at 35' elevation so no worries here. I hear "sea level rise" often but there is also sinking land. If sea level was neutral but the land sinks.........the water level rises!

Beautiful day here today.

I also don't give the sea foot level much thought either. Every fall during Kings Tide in Miami, there are fish in the streets Every year they blame it on Global Warming even though it's been going on for decades and decades

Re: CLOSED Last Hurrah for March?
JAX: Friday...Cold front will slow its progress as it enters SE GA
during the morning hours and expect widespread showers and the possibility of isolated storms (possibly/briefly strong with wind
gusts to 40 mph possible) before it weakens and showers/isolated
storms drift into NE FL by the late morning/early afternoon hours.
The forecast timing of the slowing of the frontal boundary into NE
FL by the afternoon hours will determine if some diurnal/heating
redevelopment of storm activity will be possible ahead of the
frontal boundary south of the I-10 boundary across the remainder
of NE FL. Models seem to be keen on showing a separate QPF bulls-
eye across portions of NE FL, so have gone with 60-80% rain
chances for now. Fairly decent chances for all locations seeing
measurable rainfall with 0.50-1.00" higher totals across inland SE
GA and around 0.50-0.75" higher totals across portions of NE FL
where pre-frontal convection can re-develop in afternoon heating.
The timing of the frontal boundary does make for tougher Max Temp
forecast as portions of SE GA/Suwannee Valley will likely not
reach much more than the lower 70s, while ahead of the front
across NE FL will push into the upper 70s and possibly lower 80s
in some spots. A few gusty winds from storms will be possible in
the afternoon across NE FL...mainly south of the I-10 corridor.

Good morning and TGIF. Slow start to the day at work which is nice. Hope it stays that way.
Looking at the latest HRRR (which updates hourly) seems Waterdipper and Jenny have a chance for nice rains. It then poofs as it moves east leaving the rest of us with little to none. We shall see.

Good afternoon! Maybe a lot of people are off today. Traffic is WAY lighter than normal.
Looks like rain will fizzle out before it reaches South Florida. Darn! Good luck up your way everyone.

It picked up after lunch. Yes, Largo, I think your areas on the west coast have was more Snowbirds than we do . I remember trying to drive around Englewood during Spring Break. Good grief traffic was a big nightmare. He was in a nursing home in Sarasota, near Bee Ridge Rd and we visited him in the summer, traffic was so bad, I commented that I couldn't imagine that area during season

Morning. Anyone get rain? It fizzled as HRRR was showing. Had .07" here. Waterdipper may have gotten a quarter inch or more.
Looks like the heat isn't quite ready to settle in here yet. Next 7 days are up/down between the low 70's/low 80's with many nights in the 50's. Perfect days to open up the windows and save on energy bills.

Gotta run up to Publix soon. I've a hankering for some of their fried chicken today. It's been at least a year since I've eaten fried chicken. Surveying the lawn that sounds like a good lunch after I pull several thistles and whatever other weeds are making their presence known.

Enough to wet the road here in the open areas. Good outdoor weekend. Supposed to be cloudy with few passing sprinkles. Bike ride to the beach this morning, then some weeding, trimming and gutters (which I should have done last weekend ). Another I-4 trip to Orlando tomorrow. Easter brunch with my daughter and her BF.

Sounds like a good weekend JR. Enjoy.
If anyone needs to run to Publix best to do it now. It was already getting crowded when checking out at 9.
No gutter cleaning here. I had a clog last year for the first time in the 12 years or so I've had them. But I've got a monster crepe myrtle aside my driveway beginning to extend above my roof. I'm sure it'll become an annual tradition moving forward when it drops its' leaves in the fall. Also have a couple of maples and an oak but they're far enough away to not present an issue. One maple is now tall enough though to fall on the house should it topple over from a strong wind from the southeast. The 7 palm trees close to the house ranging from 20' - 30' are the ones I worry about during cane season but they're usually hard to uproot.

Nice to see Largo back. I got 0.35" out of yesterdays frontal passage. Nice light, steady rain that lasted a few hours. It was cool this AM, but the Spring sun is really warming it up into a beautiful day to spend outdoors. Happy Easter to everyone.

Happy Easter all.
I'm going to my aunts billsfan. We'll have a small gathering of 6 adults, 1 baby, and 1 dog. Menu will be a combination of everything which is typical of her. Ham, london broil, meatballs, mashed potatos, dinner rolls, 2-3 veggies of choice, then cake and/or pie for dessert. I always feel like a bloated tick after I leave.
Might be some thunderstorm chances. Best opportunity per HRRR looks more interior between Orlando and Tampa Bay. Maybe John in Zhills will get an Easter storm.

LOL Largo at what Mrs. Largo said about the coincidence of Easter and April fools day. In the beginning of February, I heard my husband asking Siri when Ash Wednesday was and she said, Febroary 14th. He then said, when is Easter and she said April 1st. He said to me, stupid Siri is giving me dumb answers when Lent and Easter are, Valentine's Day and April Fools day. Siri said that was not nice to say.
