So with the Midwest still getting snow in many areas, wonder what that is doing to the Spring planting season?

Speaking of, the Spring corn on the cob crop has been excellent this year. Not sure if it is Florida corn, but I've bought it on three occasions at Publix and it's been great each time.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Rip currents: There is a moderate risk of rip currents along the Palm
Beaches.

Visibility: Fog could cause lowered visibility over portions of
interior this morning and again late tonight.

Fire Weather: There will be enhanced fire weather conditions today
due to low relative humidity over interior sections of South Florida.
However, critical wind thresholds are not expected to be met.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

A frontal boundary will stall out across the region late tonight,
lingering across the area through the upcoming weekend. Hazardous
marine conditions are expected at times, especially over the local
Atlantic waters, along with an increasing rip current risk.
Periods of heavy rain will be possible, along with thunderstorms,
late this weekend into early next week with this cold front.

yeah it would be nice if..they did post where the food item was made or grown.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for far northeast Georgia early
this morning for temperatures dropping into the lower 30s.
Outdoor plants and sensitive vegetation may need to be protected.

A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for north and central
Georgia this afternoon into evening due to low RH values in
combination with continued dry fuels.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday...

A slow moving low pressure system will bring widespread rainfall
to the area Sunday into early Tuesday. For now 2 to 4 inches with
locally higher amounts are possible. Localized flooding could
occur with such amounts so please monitor updates to the forecast
if confidence increases.

Otherwise, no hazardous weather is expected at this time.

risk Sunday and Sunday night.

Showers and thunderstorms will develop Saturday night and continue
through Sunday night ahead of an area of low pressure and surface
cold front approaching from the west. The best chances for showers
and storms will come on Sunday and Sunday night. At this time the
main concern with this pattern will be periods of heavy rain on
Sunday possibly leading to some localized flooding, especially where
flooding occurred last week. But overall the flood threat is lower
than last weekend. The overall threat for severe storms is marginal
this weekend, although a few strong storms will be possible Sunday
and Sunday night. Stay tuned for further updates on the developing

Publix does put on there brand where the product comes from. My company packs shrimp for them and we put what state the shrimp was caught in on the bag and case labels. How about that.

Bills, my understanding is that Publix sources their corn from local growers here in Florida.  It's hard to beat their sweet corn unless you are a bit further north and can grow your own Silver Queen corn.

What a difference between the southern half of the peninsula and the northern half today.  That NE flow is bringing in very nice temps for NE FL.

This is a big turn around for the NAM in 24 hours.  This is the 12Z and the 18Z is just starting to run, but yesterday the NAM was only bringing light rain to the west coast and hosing most of us.  

I like this turn of events... if it pans out this way.

Hard to believe it's almost that time of year to start watching for tropical or sub-tropical development.

Delayed in S.Minnesota. Bro-in-law is waiting for the ground to thaw. He should have just started planting (corn and soy) this and last week. He might get to start this week, so not a serious delay, but will probably lower the overall yield a bit.

Hey all. We came from N IL farming town and they haven’t started planting soy beans or corn yet. Ground needs to be at least 50 degrees to germinate. Hopefully they’ll start Monday. Farmers get really antsy in the Spring and I’d imagine not fun to be around now! Can only do so much in the barn!

Good morning. I saw some big storms fire on the west side of the state yesterday late afternoon/early evening. Big totals for some areas but not widespread in coverage. San cashed in. JR may have as well.
