CLOSED Beginning of 2018 Tropical Season for Florida

Can start to see the drier air pushing down from the north

GFS keeps insisting something forms below Cuba heads up close to OUR gulf coast then model runs differ..one run into tampa bay area, one run into the big bend and crosses to ATL..and the latest run takes it in New Orleans area...i just watch GFS for a formation..and its doing that next week...now where it goes..too soon to say`...stay tuned i guess.

well I do have to say I just walked my dogs, no rain here but alot of clouds above and feels quite Humid and icky outside whew..thank goodness for A/C huh

Got up to 90° today and temps are staying above 80° tonight. Ugh.

Good afternoon. Toasty afternoon here as well. A line of storms popped overhead but didn't drop precip until half a mile to the east.(the thunder/lightning really ramped up) Another line is just west of me moving east. Hoping for a quick .1 - .25 before the valve shuts off for a spell.

This must be the front they expect to stall out over middle Florida sometime this week huh.....

No rain in site here Largo. It is a beautiful, hot and sunny day with slightly lower humidity than we have been having and not even much of a breeze. I doubt that stuff in the panhandle will hold together as it comes across the Gulf later today.

No rain for me. I heard 80 percent chance tomorrow. We shall see

Hi All,
Yes Largo got back late yesterday and had tons to do at work today.
My trip was good to the Outer Banks sunday -tuesday rain rain and rain.
Had over 7 inches. wednesday - saturday was very hot 85-90 with heat index around 100
Got a lot of fishing done and caught some fish.
Here in Z-hills had 4.94 inches of rain while i was gone.

Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon
and early evening, mainly away from the Gulf Coast. The primary
threat is cloud-to-ground lightning, but a few thunderstorms may
become strong and produce gusty winds.

Wind: Isolated strong thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening
may produce wind gusts to around 50 mph. These are most likely over
Broward,Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties, as well as Lake
Okeechobee and nearshore Atlantic waters.

Temperature: Heat index values will range between 100 and 104 degrees
for the east coast metro region this afternoon.

Waterspout: Isolated waterspouts may be possible over Lake Okeechobee
or the near shore Atlantic waters with any strong thunderstorm
activity.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

Scattered thunderstorms are expected each day, mainly during the
afternoons. The focus will be toward the east coast Thursday, then

Good morning all. Looks like I am going to get some rain today, which is welcomed as it has been about a week since I have seen any. The week of dry weather did give me a chance to mow the grass, but I only completed just around the house. The early start to the rainy season this year really has the vegetation growing at a quick rate and I need to do some bush hogging around the property. Normally I don't do it until later in the summer, but this year it already needs it.

good luck up there on the rain WD..local met said very heavy rains etc up there and says to watch out for flooded streets and roadways ok..im hoping some of this heavy stuff reaches down to my area later today

2 showers this morning so far. about 1/3". Caught the pre-dawn light show up to my north, looked to be just east of San. After ignoring the weather yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by the radar this morning.
