Re: CLOSED Thick of Summer in Florida!
Good morning. Had a nice weekend with family. Weather wise it was pretty normal until we got home last night. Only had .75 in the rain gauge then a band set up over us and dumped 1.5" in about 30 minutes. The water ponded up pretty good due to the saturated ground, but slowly receded overnight. With the 6" of rainfall I have had in the last week or so my pond is way up into the yard again. I had it pumped down the weekend before last, but that much rain and it is over full. again If the rains stop for a bit later this week then I will lower the level. Hopefully we don't get a tropical system before then or it is gonna be boat time.
This has been some stretch of rainy days. I am going on 12 days of at least a trace of rainfall, the longest stretch of the summer. Fortunately I had 2 back to back days of only a trace last week, but could use some more days like that. Unfortunately the lowest pop for the week is tomorrow at 40%. From there until next week it ramps back up to 60% daily. Sure would be nice to have a bit more normal weather for a bit.

Morning All,
Quite interesting yesterday weather wise. I had a very brief heavy rain a little wind and a few slaps of thunder. Took out my power from 2:35 pm till 10:34 last night. A tree fell in to the sub station. Crazy!!!!!
I have in the bucket for the month .90 so far. Ended August with 8.71 in the bucket. The ground is getting so wet trees are coming down with just a little bit of wind. Be careful!!!!
Have a great day

Looks like the COC has pushed off a bit. Mobile should bear the brunt?!

I think it is really hard to tell where the COC is on radar. You can't tell if the convection is all shoved east or if it is going in between Mobile and Pensacola. Need to find a good vis loop now

Well we did have a tree snap in my parents backyard. Snapped over at about 12' up. Landed between the shed and back patio -- no damage. It is all out to the road for pickup today.

Hey WD. I did make it thru Cedar Key this trip. Toured many of the streets, Museum, Cemetery, dock (quite the weather station there). Steamers: Fried clams, perfectly fried; Crab cake, excellent. Good beer and barkeep. Glad I took the detour.
