Nice pick on pole .

No go on pole pick for me. I can't imagine anyone else did? Going to be HOT there tomorrow again. I was napping, but hubby said Chase got on radio during Xfinity race and said he was going to need medical attention after race. 150 inside car.

Morning bills. Nope, I picked Harvick. Starting to get down to slim pickings on a few drivers in the league.

I had to check the Chicago forecast. They're under an excessive heat warning with temps in the 90's and heat indexes between 100 - 110. Typical summer day for us but the folks up there aren't used to it. Many may not even have AC. Chance of thunderstorms. Hope the race gets in.

If I recall correctly, wasn't it Jimmy Johnson that required rehydration after the Chicago race a couple of years ago?   And that guy is in great physical condition.

I think it was sangria on June 30th, 2018 when local temps were hovering around 80.

Yep ditto Aug! I'm almost out of picks for Harvick and Elliott. I've rationed KyBusch fairly well, have more picks for him than I thought. And BB have a few left for him. Figure only 8-9 more races? And Daytona is a crap shoot, anyone can win that, seems like flukes happen there.

Counting today there are 10 races left.  I have a couple of guys down to 4 (counting today)

Yes - flip a coin at Daytona. Opportunity to bring in the "lesser" drivers and hope they don't get mixed up in a wreck or five that's bound to happen.

There may really be some medical issues today with drivers and the inside car temps as high as they are.

I'm down to 3-4 for most of the top guys... will have to really pick and choose over the next 9 races.

Dang it . Bowyer back on lead lap. I had him starting then changed my mind and took him out completely.

So, I decided putting BB in wasn't worth the 15-20 points I would gain, of course there is still a half race left and anything can happen!

OMG! You don't see racing like that anymore. I knew KyBusch was going to take Larson back out.

Yeah, worth watching the few minutes at the end. Larson was like it was just racing. (Fans were booing) Dale Jr also said just hard racing. I thought it was fair too.

I agree, Larson opened the door and it was good hard racing. Fans will always boo drivers they don't like regardless of what transpires.

It was funny, watching it live, I looked at hubby and said, Larson is going to pay for that lol.

Yeah bills, it's here on the site.  It was heavily used years ago.  Allows for "text" exchanges of sorts in real time. We'd have 4-6 people in the room ribbing one another, talking about X subject matter, or could give live weather updates if one of the gang in the group had threatening weather nearby.

I think WU used to have chat rooms years ago but I never joined in being mostly a lurker.

Stenhouse definitely didn't make any friends last night. I picked him to win and considering he took our half the field it was looking good for awhile, lol. But karma caught up with him in the end.

Brad Keselowski issues warning after wreck

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Brad Keselowski said he won’t lift next time when blocked, upset with the move William Byron made just before Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hit Keselowski and triggered a 25-car crash Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.

“It was just a bad block,” Keselowski said after exiting the infield care center. “There are times you can make a block, there are times you can’t. When you got a guy with a big enough run and you can’t throw a block. I made the mistake of lifting instead of wrecking (Byron) and that’s my fault. I take the blame.”

Asked if it was just inexperience on Byron’s part, Keselowski said;

“You got a list of drivers that are making moves that are unqualified to make and it causes big wrecks. That was one of those. It was my fault because I lifted. I should have wrecked him and sent a message to the whole field.

“So we’ll wait until Talladega and every one of those rookie drivers or guys that don’t know what the hell they are doing we’ll drive through them and wreck them until they stop blocking us and we don’t have this problem no more.”

Byron was involved in an accident later and said of what Keselowski stated: “He got hit from behind. I didn’t get hit from anywhere. If he would have hit me I would have tried to move or save it, but I never got hit.”

In an in-car interview with NBC after winning the second stage, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took the blame for that crash and another one in the race.

“It’s been crazy partially due to a few of my issues,” Stenhouse said. “That first one I thought us and (Keselowski) were going to have a run on (Byron) to the inside, then (Keselowski) had to check up really late into 3 there.

“Then the other one I just tried to sidedraft (Kyle Busch) at the wrong place, got sucked into him and turned him around. It’s crazy here, trying to get into the playoffs, gaining points, trying to get ourselves into position for the win. … Hate that we tore up all our Ford teammates, that didn’t go as planned. We’re going to have to do it with the teammates we have left out here.”

Later on Twitter, Byron’s crew chief, Darian Grubb, responded to a tweet by Keselowski’s spotter, Joey Meier.

I hate to tell Darian Grubb, but the blame does lie on William Byron - not BB or Stenhouse in that particular wreck.  

And LMAO at BB... guess we'll see if he cools down before Dega.

Oh gosh, haven't had a chance to watch, but I can imagine.

I was at my neighbor's baby shower the first race after he was killed and I remember the tribute they did before race .A fluke thing is that 80 percent of the women there were huge NASCAR fans and we were all in tears.

No dice on pole.

KyBu was hilarious talking abiut Stenhiuse yesterday. Then they interviewed Ricky and he was quite indignant about the whole episode

I saw that interview with KyBu Bills, I was cracking up! I didn't see the Stenhouse one though - I'll have to go find it.

Don't know if there's much to see on Stenhouse. It was after/during qualifying I think and RS was asked why he didn't talk to Kyle, and he was like I've been listening to him run his mouth all week and I'm sick of it. Something along that line.
