it seems THIS is Billsfans stormy day..good luck on the rain down there...

it could very well be that north of I-4 will get the rain from the front coming tonight/Monday,,we'll see what happens.

NWS Tampa 2 58 pm sunday...............(clip).....The front and associated
weather begin to impact...the Nature Coast in the pre-dawn
hours...the Tampa Bay area around sunrise...Southwest Florida around
mid-afternoon...then exits by late afternoon. Winds will pick
noticeable with the front but will mainly be of concern for
aviation/marine interests.

We were fortunate enough to receive 2.75 inches of rain yesterday. So nice~
It was VERY foggy this morning. About a mile visibility. Listening to traffic reports on radio and it sounded like parts of 95 were a mess!

Good Morning Billsfan,yeah your area was right on target for that good rainfall..congrats I hope it also helped with the fire's inland,with that much rain it sure should have helped..I'm lucky if I got a half inch but..that one heavy downpour the other day which lasted awhile helped my area for sure too..now I guess we wait for may for any more unless some surprise pops up in the meantime

well its just about 10am here and above the overcast is thickening and wind is picking up, I guess the cool front is almost to me...would be nice to get some sprinkles with it.

Tampa airport..overcast is the same over my area..

a few wind blown sprinkles around inland but none by me so far and getting real breezy now here on the coast

* IMPACTS...Strong gusty winds will make for choppy and difficult
boating conditions on areas lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

Imagine..your looking out your window..you see the Forest fire in the distance..and now the wind blowing 20-25 mph, blowing the fire your way..i cannot imagine what those people must be going thru..everything they worked hard for....maybe Gone if that fire reaches their homes..gee give my a tropical storm anyday..at least you have a chance to get thru it..if a wind blown FIRE comes to your house..poof.

Cold front moved through the region early this morning, and a few
light showers and sprinkles were observed. Smoke from the West
Mims wildfire was moving east across Nassau and northern Duval
County this morning. More smoke is possible for the metro area
late tonight into Tuesday. Dry conditions with breezy westerly
winds are forecast today, with cooler temperatures in the 70s to
near 80 degrees.

Quite a difference in temps across Florida right now. 10-degrees between St. Pete and Miami, 20-degrees between Tallahassee and Miami

Good afternoon.  74 here now heading towards 53 overnight.  A perfect late April afternoon but the low humidity with a nice breeze won't bode well for StPete's fire map.  I expect more fires in the not-too-distant future with continued dry wx and temps beginning to soar.  Respirator businesses are probably happy.

Humidity returns by Thursday looking at the low temps.

Hi Aug..tues morning and NWS is saying fire danger returns again thru most of this week but towards end of week the afternoon chance of a shower returns

GFS is saying a good chance for rain for our parched Gulf coast area's on may 1st..

CMC also has a wet day on may 1st..lets hope this verifies...........

beautiful day around my area,and a nice breeze too as I walked my dogs in the park, I see the otters protecting their babies in the reeds in the lake..im careful because some lady told me the otters attacked a man and His dog the other day because the dog went too close..im always watchful of wild animals..

Same thing here - work is busy and will be the rest of the week. When I have folks out, I don't get to play very much.

Busy here as well. Started at 6 and was hoping to be done by 3 but just wrapped up. Thursday is going to be a tough one.

Managed to take a nice lunchtime walk. Upper 70's at the time, low humidity, and a nice breeze.

For those with family in other states the severe weather will be ramping up across the southern plains and southeast beginning today and running into the weekend. Gomey may be threatened by severe or at a minimum inches of rain.

Good Wednesday Morning Folks!..well it seems we are back to HOT temps and Dry weather once again and this may go on thru this week etc..local met was saying 90's this week whew..spring doesn't last long here huh...local met was mentioning my area was 15 inches under our normal rainfall from about last October so this drought and lack of rainfall is long term and serious,but...May is coming and after that June and Tropical season..hopefully the rains return...........well Blogs COFFEE is perking for when you get here..enjoy...have a great day everyone!

Well looks like no rainfall chances for the rest of April. Lucky to have had the one rainfall event that gave me 1.1" for the month. Here are my readings for the first 4 months of 2017
Jan 1.1"
Feb 1.50"
March 0.50"
April 1.1"
Total for the first quarter of 2017= 4.2"

If we get some rainfall in June, then I think this drought will be short lived, but if the drought lingers into July then look out. We could be in for a long lived drought like we had 1998-2001. I really worry that once the convective storms start firing up that they will have a lot of lightning and little rainfall. This fire season could really only just be beginning.

good morning WD..yes the GFS is bullish on rains first couple of weeks in may...but if this drought goes into July, you could be right..these fires are really scary indeed..and we all know..the storms in summer do..have a lot of cloud to ground Lightning...we need rain bad and not just one day..we need to soak the grounds good.
