Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Blog - October Tropical Mischief
Good morning. Ah, free from work for a week. Lot's of "to-do's" to get done. I'll see how motivated I am. One job at a time.
My company has Monday off for Veteran's Day.
Had a brief downpour yesterday evening. Not quite sure what the total was since it's still too dark to check the gauge but it wasn't much. Today/tomorrow temps cool to the low 70's, increase to near 80 Mon/Tue with high rain chances, then a decent front passes through. Forecast high for Wednesday is only 61 then warms back up to the low 70's later next week.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Blog - October Tropical Mischief
Morning all. A bit foggy this morning. Driving to Orlando this afternoon, for my daughter's BD. 4 hours on I-4. Whoohoo!
Have a good time on vaca, Aug. I'll be heading up your way Friday or Saturday. I'll check and see if the fam wants some lemons.
Looks like we're getting a good temp dip mid-week. Maybe break into the 50's a bit.
And I see the yellow crayon is out.

Good deal to not sweat Largo. I had my daughter help me pick lemons. 489 picked today weighing in around 115 lbs. And my tree is quite small!

Hi Largo! No, cooler temps have not reach us yet. We were talking with a few people about that while walking in the Walmart parking lot! It’s miserable.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Blog - October Tropical Mischief
A reply from a few days ago. Yes Aug, my boss did me dirty pool. I’ve worked for him nearly 33 years and a few weeks ago, he sold the company without letting his employees know. It was very, very rushed and customers weren’t notified on a proper manner. Many called the letter, impersonal, ingratiating, cold to name a few adjectives.
I’m with the new company in transition, the the other two employees, one being my husband who helps part time when he can, were let go.
To say it was a shock is an understatement.
So during the workweek, I will not be able to post as much

Morning all. Sorry to hear about the hubby bills. With it being part time hopefully it's not too big a hit personally.
In the 20+ years with my company I've seen hundreds of teammates be let go - not to mention the thousand and thousands of others I didn't know. And many, many mergers and acquisitions but those have settled the past 10 years. In the back of my mind it's not if I get let go at some point but when. So, I'm in the midst of a 5 year plan to aggressively pay off my mortgage and be debt free should the worst happen. I can then settle for a lesser paying job to give me peace of mind not worrying about making ends meet. My company has been good to me and offers fantastic benefits. I'd like to retire there. Survive and advance in the meantime.
Sunny start to the day with temps in the mid 50's. Feels good. Low 70's today then back to the 80's tomorrow/Tuesday before the next front passes through.

With the fronts dropping down regularly now and forecast to continue doing so, I don't see the potential disturbance getting any further than the Bahamas before swept out to sea. However we shall see!

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama Blog - October Tropical Mischief
Ouch, BillsFan. Sorry to hear. 33 years should minimally earn you a little respect, regardless of the circumstances. Business doesn't care any more; and it's why the employees don't either. Good luck to you and your hubby.
Outside day here. 68 this morning. A little maintenance, grill, football, beer, and back in the pool this weekend. 80 degree water. You have to take advantage of this in November. Since I don't get Veteran's Day off from work; I'll celebrate my holiday today.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
303 AM EST Mon Nov 12 2018
.DISCUSSION...
A mid level long wave trough from northern Manitoba, Canada to the
Four Corners region of the U.S. slides east and stretches from
western Quebec to the southern plains by late Tue. In response an
Atlantic ridge across Cuba and the southern half of FL to the
Caribbean Sea eases to the southeast. At the surface a frontal
boundary across the Gulf of Mexico from south TX to south FL early
this morning slowly lifts north...reaching the Gulf coast and
north FL tonight as a low pressure area forms near LA. This low
tracks into GA/SC by late Tue...with a cold trailing southwest
over the Gulf. As the frontal boundary moves north relaxed
Atlantic high pressure builds in across Fl to the eastern Gulf
through tonight but begins to retreat Tue...as the cold front
approaches.
The front moving north with lower level flow becoming southeast and
southern as high pressure builds in from the east will provide warm
and moist air. This will support some lower chance showers later
today and into the evening. Moisture remains in place Tue as the
mid level trough and cold front approach from the west...
resulting in an increase in rain chances and supporting a few
thunderstorms. Temperatures will stay on the warm side of normal.
For Wed-Sun: The mid level trough deepens into a low over the lower
Mississippi Valley that slowly tracks to New England by Fri...
dragging the cold front through the east Gulf and across FL with
showers and thunderstorms. High pressure builds into the western
Gulf Fri then treks east through the weekend. This will usher in
drier and significantly cooler air on northerly flow.

Morning all. I get to join you all back in the 80's today after a couple of cooler days. 30-40% chance of rain today/tomorrow then rain chances really boost upward Wed/Wed night ahead of the cold front.
My brother in central Missouri had 2.5" of snow a few days ago. More forecast today although the heaviest will stay just to his south. Kinda uncommon to have 2 snowfalls before Thanksgiving up there.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
411 AM EST Tue Nov 13 2018
.DISCUSSION..
A mid level trough from Hudson Bay to the southern high plains
early this morning eases eastward as the southern portion
separates and deepens into a low aloft the southern Mississippi
Valley late Wed. A complex frontal boundary accompanies this
trough...moving from the lower Great Lakes-central Gulf coast to
along the eastern seaboard and southwestward into the eastern
Gulf tonight. The boundary slows Wed as a wave/low forms on
it...near northeast FL/southeast GA. Surface high pressure from
the Atlantic extends across FL and into the extreme eastern Gulf
of Mexico today then pulls back east tonight then east of the
state Wed.
Light winds early this morning and adequate moisture has resulted
in patchy fog over central and north counties. This fog will
begin to lift around 8 am. Available moisture along with daytime
heating under partly cloudy skies will support some isolated to
scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Rain chances begin to
increase Wed as the approaching front provides additional moisture
and energy. Temperatures stay on the warm side of normal for the
next day or so.
From Thu through Mon: Broad mid level troughing resides over the
east and much of the central U.S. with ridging across Cuba and the
Caribbean Seas...with nearly zonal flow aloft the Gulf of Mexico.
At the surface a frontal system across FL Thu exits to the
Atlantic early Fri as high pressure builds into the Gulf region.
This high pressure dominates the area as it slides eastward. A dry
front with a second area of high pressure will approach the gulf
region early next week. Showers and thunderstorms will clear the
area by late Thu or early Fri as a dry and significantly cooler
air mass spreads into the area.
&&
.AVIATION...
13/06Z TAF cycle. Light winds with patchy BR until shortly AFT
sunrise with MVFR/LCL IFR. Then prevailing VFR with VCNTY SHRA
and BKN clouds AOA 4K through the morning then decreasing clouds
through the afternoon and winds become S to SW.
