Re: 4/16/17 Florida/Alabama Weather Blog
Good afternoon. No sign of rain here in the near term but chances go up overnight. We shall see. HRRR has been consistent with a line of storms moving through but placement has been inconsistent with best coverage. I may get nothing or get an inch.
Next chance comes late Thur/Thur night followed by great weather. 2 nights in the mid 50's with highs in the upper 70's. Can't beat that in May.

Re: 4/16/17 Florida/Alabama Weather Blog
NWS Tampa 3 56am tues...............Currently the front is near Levy county with a fairly wide swath of
deeper moisture ahead of it...model PWAT values run from 1.5 to
around 2 inches. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are
already along the coast with a few showers offshore. These will
continue ahead of and right along the front as it pushes south...
reaching Tampa Bay about dawn...west-central FL this afternoon...
and southwest FL late afternoon and evening. Coverage will be
isolated to locally numerous for the showers and isolated for the
thunderstorms. The precipitation ends from north to south during the
day as drier air fills in behind the front. The front then stalls
and dissipates over night. However residual moisture remains across
southern FL Wed with some showers and a a few storms spreading into
the southern counties in the afternoon. Temperatures continue to run
above normal although slightly cooler air spreads in across the
north tonight. The Gulf coast high pressure moving east shifts winds
fairly fast through the north to the east...precluding any
significant cooling.

No rainfall by me. It went around us again. Hopefully we get some on Thursday, but I am guessing it will be much like what has happened for awhile now. A lot of hype and no show. Oh well, I'll get my annual rainfall allotment in July, August and September.

Good afternoon. Like waterdipper, not a drop here. I too don't feel too confident for much relief later in the week. The seabreeze storms should begin firing in the next month give or take a couple of weeks. Looks like I'll have to wait until then.

What a great morning here, 55 degrees, calm and sunny. Great May weather. Now, if Thursday's front would just bring some measurable rainfall I will consider it a win. I have no doubt our rains will come eventually. Looks like the central US is catching the monsoon at the moment. Seems to be the pattern of the last few years. Big sections of the country go dry while one area gets pounded with too much rainfall over and over leading to major flooding issues. I'm going to St Louis next month so hopefully their flooding issues will be over by then.

Re: 4/16/17 Florida/Alabama Weather Blog
I'm thinking, since this line of storms will be coming IN from the gulf, then Tampa bay area should..get its rains this time as it comes ashore huh?..just hope no real bad winds as the cold front bangs into our high 80's and 90's temps, sometimes that can cause a water spout or tornado to come ashore with it..luckily the actual storm LOW will be way north of Florida...sure would be nice to get an inch of rain or more this time.....but watch...only a sprinkle or two LOL
