I was watching the local Fox station news this morning and they showed 275 back open. I bet it was a flippin mess there yesterday during rush hour.

Checking the models it looks dry as a bone for the foreseeable future. Coastal SE FL may see some rain in the coming days but totals look relatively light. Good luck billsfan.

yes I don't see any rain for us until around the 16th or so and even that is a model guesswork.

well we have things to do today,man I hate mall browsing lol..but we need things and when she says come on..i go lol....well weather is cool and nice here..and it seems the 80's temps have returned for the coming week...well have a great day folks...

Morning. A perfect week lies ahead in the St Augustine area. 75-80 degrees every day with 55-60 degree lows. I was able to give the irrigation a little time off but will probably need to turn it back on next weekend. I only use it when forced to conserve water (and $$)

It's a beautiful 47 degrees here this morning. The upcoming 7 day forecast is pleasant except for the back end when it reaches 87 again.

The fire in Hernando is evident on radar....

Bad fire up by Hernando beach today..300 acres wide whew.....

so much for the air quality index in that area...

What a gorgeous weekend weather wise. Cool, crisp mornings and nice warm afternoons. Lowest temp this weekend for me was 38 on Sunday AM, but it warmed up to 80. Looks like continued dry, spring weather for the week. Lows are forecast to continue to stay slightly cool with nice warm highs, but nothing too drastic either way.

well for My area it seems for the next 7 days warm and sunny without much rainfall they say...sure could use a rainy day here by me.

Keep safe, San. Just guessing here, but it looks like both Moon Lake and Hidden Lake have a fire going. Your near Orchid Lake, I think I remember?

Yup, I've been worried about this for a couple of months. I hope it doesn't get as bad as the last big fire year (98-99 I think).

You have a good memory JR - I am in Orchid Lake.  I used to live fairly close to the new fire, out in Golden Acres.  There is a lot of timber out that direction, I feel for all of those folks.

EDIT: And damn, I didn't know one had popped up in Hidden Lake. That is a nice sub with a private airstrip.

I believe it was the summer of 1998 JR. First full summer after I moved here in 1997. Welcome to Florida - the fire state!

Anybody know where to find this map? This one is from 8am. All I can find is an interactive map that loses the fire icons when you zoom in, and doesn't have any detailed info.   This was posted on Twitter..

Not as good a memory as I wish I still had, San. I have a reference point -- my wife is in a hand-bell choir that practices at Trinity Pres, just south of you on Little Rd.

I'll look around for a fire map, when I get a chance. I think I found 1 before.

Thanks, BillsFan. I needed that laugh. Rough couple of hours after the reg workday - totally beat up from several directions. Finally done, beer with a shot, a cool rinse in the pool, watching the beautiful moon. Nice ending, and thanks for the sprinkles on top!!

Blogs COFFEE is perking for when you get here enjoy.....not much of a chance for any rain in my area so far this week...news is full of FIRE stories around the state,stay alert and safe folk...surely we need one of those all day rains,the kind that soaks in..well we must wait this dry spell out till the tropical season kicks in huh.....have a great day everyone.

Sang are you ok with those fires in your area? man fires all over the state huh.

gee between still high pollen counts and smoke etc from fires..allergies must be going crazy for folks...I know mine are from the pollen around my area.

WIld fires are very scary. I live in the middle of thousands of acres of piney flatwoods that currently have a ton of fuel to burn. I keep a defensible area cleared around the house, but if a fire wants it a fire will get it. Here within the last couple of weeks there have been a couple of fires started close by, but our excellent volunteer fire department and the DOF have been able to keep them from getting out of control. We will be worried about a major fire until the summer rains soak the ground and make it difficult to get the fires going.

gee hope you don't get and of those lightning storms...NWS is saying this will be a dry week for our area (central florida) but Thursday might be a few scattered showers..outside of that..rain chances aren't good at all.and still a few months away for the tropics to start up and rain for us I hope...well take care WD and stay alert and safe.

Gov Scott has declared a state of emergency in Florida.........There are currently more than 100 active wildfires across more than 20,000 acres in Florida

folks those of you who live inland or close to forested area's..stay alert and safe thru these wildfires ok..just hope winds don't pick up.

officials in Hernando county have put out a no burn notice thru may 23rd.

Billsfan I hope no Lightning with the Thunderstorms Thursday by you...
