Good morning all!

Not the greatest news out of HI but it could be worse.... Lane is down to a TS but has dumped 40" of rain in some areas and another 20" possible in those same areas. Fortunately the islands haven't taken a direct hit but flooding and mudslides will be a big risk in those areas.

Glad that some of y'all got a good downpour yesterday. I was hosed in the middle.... North of me and south of me both received generous amounts of rain while I listened to the thunder and watched the ground stay dry here.

The flow change has upped my chances but like everyone else in FL, it can rain at your neighbor's house and stay dry at yours!

Aug, stay a lil more alert weather wise 1st week of september,but this could change again huh...

on radar its about 2:15 or so, looks like alot of storms down your way, stay alert and safe if alot of Lightning etc ok.

well so far I dont see any model bringing any storm stronger than a cat 1 maybe,,but still 8-9-10 days off and anything can change huh..hopefully just some rain with a lil wind..by the way...with the storms around tampa bay area..lighting hit a house over hillsborough county

yeah i think we all will be making it thru storms for days to come yet

ok just after 4pm and sun's gone here for the most part and the clouds above thickening into solid overcast, my guess is storms coming once again over me, just hope no severe stuff for anyone

wow its going to be one wet with booming thunder/lightning night here on the gulf coast.............................

At 405 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles west of Four Corners, or 13 miles west of Celebration, moving
west at 20 mph.

Winds of 40 to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Lakeland, Plant City, Winter Haven, Haines City, Auburndale, Fussels
Corner, Combee Settlement, Jan Phyl Village, Poinciana, Lake Alfred,
Davenport, Polk City, Lake Hamilton, Rockridge, Inwood, Withla,
Winter Haven Airport, Gibsonia, Winston and Loughman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Ample moisture combined with daytime heating will lead to
numerous thunderstorms developing along the sea breeze today with
the greatest storm coverage expected along and to the west of the
I-75 corridor during the late afternoon and early evening hours.
Torrential downpours, strong gusty winds, and frequent lightning
strikes will accompany the storms as they move to the west and
northwest around 10 mph. If you have outdoor plans today keep
an eye to the sky and be ready to move indoors immediately if
threatening weather approaches your location.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Heavy rainfall the last few days along with the possibility of
additional heavy rain today, will keep the Little Manatee River
at Wimauma, the Peace River at Zolfo Springs, the Myakka River
at Myakka River State Park, and the Withlacoochee River at
Dunnellon in minor flood today.

The wind pattern is strong enough that the sea breeze, once it forms this afternoon, will be close to the west coast. In fact, if the wind is strong enough then the sea breeze may not form at all.

This will focus our strongest storms close to the coast this afternoon and evening..that per baynews9..........hey St Pete did YOUR area get all that Heavy rain last night? Pinellas county sure was in a bullseye whew.

Had a short-lived shower here as the seabreeze pushed through with .19" in the gauge. The forecast for today is similar.

I outran the line when I left Homosassa at 5pm yesterday evening to head back home.  Looks like I missed out on what rain fell earlier in the afternoon but I cashed in between 6:15 - 9:00 last night.  

I dumped 3.18" out of the gauge and the bulk of that fell between 6:15-7:00.  The intense lightning and thunder hung around for quite some time last night and I see that a stilt house in the gulf right outside the mouth of the river here took a strike and ended up a total loss.

Good morning all. That was quite a storm yesterday to be sure. We had an incredible 3.61” and the wx pattern will remain the same for today as well. My one dog Lucy is going to have a rough time again I guess.
It’s funny because the other 2 dogs don’t care one iota about thunderstorms. Looks like sumptin might be headed towards us next weekend. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about, just rain. Let’s hope it moves out quickly. It’s nice to see everything green this year opposed to last with fire danger always lurking.

yes its been quiet but the next week or so it may well get interesting, models starting to sense the awakening tropics. we'll see how this goes..myself im watching fist 2 weeks of sept very closely

deadly lightning strikes.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Heavy rainfall the last few days along with the possibility of
additional heavy rain today will cause several area rivers to run
at or near minor flood stage. Residents living along rivers or
faster flowing streams should remain aware of water levels and
be ready to move to higher ground should flooding be observed.
