Waterdipper - here's the SPC storm reports from a couple of days ago. Play a game of "find the MCS" you were tracking, lol. A "ring of fire" of sorts riding atop and along the eastern periphery of the ridge in the central states. Originated in eastern Nebraska moving east then grew in size/intensity as it turned to the SSE from the MO/IL border then eventually landing in northern FL before decaying.

Re: CLOSED Florida/Alabama weather and Tropical weather affecting our states
Thanks for the tornado report, Aug. I didn't hear about it, but I haven't been able to pay a lot of attention to the weather for a couple of weeks.
Looks like Largo may have gotten a good shower that's heading my way.
It's looking like this week, plus today is salvaging June rains, which were just enough to keep the sprinklers off. 4"+ with half of that this week. Today's is looking like a mostly wet day.

Morning everyone...............Largo, Pinellas definitely is sitting in a better spot than Pasco this weekend - looks like another shot for you this morning.
I ended up with a measly .08" for yesterday but, like Bills, at least the cloud cover kept temps decent! I'm not sure what my June average is but I would lay $$$ that I was well below it this year. My monthly total ended up at 2.24"

...Scattered to Numerous Thunderstorms Today...
...Localized Flooding of Urban Areas and Roadways Possible...
...Heat Index Values Near or Above 105 Degrees Collier County...
This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
Lightning: Scattered thunderstorms through mid-afternoon along the
east coast metro areas will shift to the interior and Gulf coast
later this afternoon through early evening. Main concerns are
occasional to frequent lightning strikes.
Flooding: Ponding of water on roadways will be possible due to slow
movement of storms or storms moving across the same area.
Temperature: Peak heat index values near or above 105 degrees are
expected by afternoon before storms develop over communities along
and east of I-75 in Collier County as well as the Big Cypress
Preserve and Everglades regions. Children and the elderly are
particularly vulnerable to these temperatures. Drink plenty of fluids
if outside and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
Wind: gusty winds over 40 mph are possible with a few of the stronger
storms over the interior of the peninsula this afternoon.
Hail: small hail is possible with a few of the stronger
storms over the interior of the peninsula this afternoon.
Waterspouts: Isolated waterspouts are possible today across Lake
Okeechobee due to storm boundaries and lake interactions. This can
toss around boats. Boaters should be on the look out for this and
lightning activity if venturing into the lake today with any storms
that develop.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected each
day, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The highest
coverage is generally expected over interior South Florida. Cloud-
to-ground lightning is the primary threat.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Widespread spotter activation is not needed.

...Scattered to Numerous Thunderstorms Today...
...Localized Flooding of Urban Areas and Roadways Possible...
...Heat Index Values Near or Above 105 Degrees Collier County...

Ok so hubby said he just dumped 4.5 inches. He said it rained hard overnight, I didn't hear it, I usually don't.
It's still raining, but the sun is coming out also. Humid!

in looking at the state's florida radar, it sure seems like Jenny's area up close to the big bend might get some flood warnings soon..

That sounds like fun Largo! Most communities that I know of usually only have fireworks instead of a fun event leading up to the end of night fireworks!
