Love the TGFRx! Since we've been making so many trips to Sarasota, and dealing with the awful rain corridor of 75 over there and Alligator Alley, I asked hubby to RainX my windshield. What a difference!

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
NWS MIAMI..Sat Aug 19 2017
...STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE OVER SW FLORIDA THIS AFTERNOON...
...HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 100 AND 105 DEGREES...
...INCREASING HEAVY RAIN CHANCES INTO NEXT WEEK...
This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over
the interior and gulf coast this afternoon along the sea breeze
boundaries. The primary hazards will be lightning, gusty wind, and
locally heavy rainfall.
Wind: Afternoon thunderstorms will be capable of producing gusty and
erratic winds up to 45 mph.
Temperatures: The heat index will be above 100 degrees across most
of South Florida this afternoon, with values of 105 possible across
much of the east coast metro and Gulf coast metro regions.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
Increasing tropical moisture is forecast to bring better storm
coverage tonight into Sunday with locally heavy rainfall. A low
pressure system moving in from the east may bring widespread
precipitation by mid next week. Heavy rainfall and lightning will be
the main hazards.
Stronger southeasterly flow may bring an increased threat for strong
rip currents late this weekend.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Widespread spotter activation is not anticipated, however individual
spotters are encouraged to report high wind, hail and flooding to
the National Weather Service forecast office in Miami.
For more information...visit the National Weather Service in
Miami website at www.weather.gov/miami.

Morning everyone!
Yeah Largo, they did drop 92L to 30/40. Looking at satellite this morning though, it looks like it is dealing with the shear better now. The north and east side are not getting flattened/blown off as much.
Harvey looks pretty decent. It will be interesting to see if he makes it to the BOC.

Morning all. 92L does look ok but it'll have to deal with the ULL to its' NW that is sinking south. Looks like the only certainty at this point is something gets to the Bahama's then what remains and where it goes is up in the air.

US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida
It is going to be a very hot and muggy day across the region today. Rain chances will be below normal due to dry air aloft in the atmosphere. Temperatures will soar into the lower 90s along the coast, and mid to upper 90s inland. With high humidity levels heat indices will run in the 105 to 110 degrees range during the afternoon.

Off to Publix......
JAX: .NEAR TERM (Today and Tonight)...
Low clouds and patchy fog early this morning will affect mainly
ne Fl where locally heavy rainfall occurred yesterday. Expect
another round of convection this afternoon/evening similar to
Fridays activity. Most of the showers and storms will be across ne
Fl into coastal areas of se Ga where the highest moisture exists.
Locally heavy rainfall will be the main concern due to a light sw
steering flow and PWATs around 2 inches. Showers will die off by
midnight with temperatures a few degrees above average.

a lot of people laugh at the CMC, we all must remember..it was the CMC that pegged GERT to form to a hurricane when NONE of the other models did...now again..none of the other models say 92 will go to hurricane...if CMC wins again..thats the model IM following from now on when a storm is close to the USA

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
Billsfan-and south florida................NWS Miami for today..................A tropical wave extends from the northern Bahamas, across central Cuba
and west of Jamaica, then to the southwest Caribbean, moving west
at 10-15 kt. An area of moderate convection is along the wave's
axis from 22N-28N between 74W-80W. The wave shows up very well on
the TPW animation and 700 mb streamline analysis. Moisture associated
with this wave will continue spreading over the northern Bahamas
and central Cuba this morning, and across south Florida and
western Cuba in the afternoon and evening, increasing the
likelihood of showers and thunderstorms. There is a potential of
locally heavy rain and localized flooding with this activity.

We were driving from Toledo to Buffalo (on the Ohio turnpike) in a heavy snowstorm and the wiper blades broke. He had to cut the strings off of a sleeping bag and with the assistance of borrowed tie straps from a state trooper who stopped to help, rigged the wipers so we could make it the rest of the way. (last time we visited family in the winter!)

Nothing pegged yet. Just a system of interest. The next 5 days will be telling.
Hot and dry here thus far with low-topped cumulus popping. It'll be awhile if/when any storms develop later this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

NWS Miami.............Sun Aug 20 2017
...SCATTERED STORMS ARE EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL TODAY...
This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
Thunderstorms: There is a chance of thunderstorms across South
Florida today. The primary impacts from the storms will be lightning
strikes and heavy rainfall.
Flooding: Ponding of water on roadways, especially in low lying
areas, and locations with poor drainage will be possible today.
No other hazardous weather is expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
Increasing tropical moisture is forecast to bring better storm
coverage to South Florida for most of this week, as a tropical wave
moves into the area from the Bahama Islands. The primary impacts from
the storms will be lightning strikes and locally heavy rainfall.
Stronger easterly flow early this week may bring an increase threat
for strong rip currents, before decreasing late this week as the
easterly winds decrease.
No other hazardous weather is expected at this time.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Widespread spotter activation is not anticipated, however individual
spotters are encouraged to report flooding to the National Weather
Service forecast office in Miami.

Morning. Dominant ECSB up here today which means limited rain chances unless something fires early in the day before pushing off towards the interior. Good luck west coasters.
Further south it seems bills may have received some rain albeit light. Decent rains in Palm Beach County at the moment.

well once 92 gets close to florida we'll then have to watch it very closely..does it come across florida?..or does it stall off the coast and move northward?...it still has till wens-thurs etc..so still time for these models to change routes several times huh...what IM watching for..is how strong it gets remembering we have that hot water stream that flows along our coastlines..most storms go boom when they get into it.
