Deep moisture has overspread most of the area...and will result
in scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Scattered
showers and storms begin in the late morning south of the
Interstate 4 corridor then spread north and increase during the
day. The highest rain chances will be in the south-central and
southwest counties. These showers and storms will taper over in
the evening. Thunderstorms that develop will be capable of
producing strong gusty winds, locally heavy rainfall, and frequent
deadly lightning strikes.

A frontal boundary to the north and a trough of deepening low
pressure moving north over the state then out over the Atlantic

* Flood Watch for a portion of South Florida, including the

Beach, Mainland Monroe, Metro Broward, Metro Miami-Dade, and

* From 11 AM EDT this morning through Saturday morning

* Periods of heavy rainfall are possible across the region in the
next couple of days. This could cause roadways to become
impassible. If canals and drainage ways become flooded, it could
also allow for water to rise high enough to enter some
structures, especially in low lying areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Good morning all. Thought I was going to make it two days in a row without rain, but a surprise T-storm last night around 10 pm dropped around 1/10 of an inch. Not much rain, but it sure had a lot of lightning in it though and it really blew up once it hit the Gulf. Looks like I am north of the area predicted to get the heaviest rainfall the next few days, but enough moisture will be around for widespread afternoon showers each day.

In other news, unless something miraculously changes TX is in big trouble. Maybe 3 feet of rain on the way. Harvey really got his act together overnight. Not good.

good morning WD, yeah sure was ALOT of Lightning here too and lasted several hours or more,one of my neighbors said this morning his gauge showed an inch of rain here last night..boy the way it came down here sooo hard I can sure believe that wow what a storm..rain came in so hard and sideways wow...even now this morning everything is dripping soaking wet..i sure needed this to happen...well have a great day today WD..we'll see what happens whenever 92 decides to cross back over Florida later this week or weekend...I don't know where it is right now.

well maybe 92 is in the gulf or soon will be,guess we have 3 days of rain coming till it crosses back over florida to the atlantic..CMC model is scary with where it ends up around the Carolina's whew, but its only one model and still many days away yet.

yes maybe it isn't in the gulf just yet,sure is a lot of storms around south florida........

models still don't know exactly where 92 crosses florida and where it heads in crossing florida to the atlantic..but Euro and GFS this morning are saying across central florida..still too early yet..

Eastern Broward County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 1130 AM EDT

* At 830 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two and one half inches
of rain have already fallen, with more expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miramar, Pompano Beach and Davie.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding

Congrats on the good rains, Largo. I may have been in the only dry spot in Pinellas; just some winds and light sprinkles. It looked to me like San got some good rains as well. It was an excellent light and sound show, in every direction from here.

Texas should be on alert. Looks like this storm could blow up fast. Very warm water over there. Chased all the shrimp boats in.

On Levi's page and the NHC site it's near the coast by Ft Myers.

NHC now has Harvey becoming at least a cat 3. It is exploding. Levi also put out a new video. A worse-case scenario is unfolding for those folks.

I have my gulf eyeball on it:)..I do not trust Harvey one bit the stronger it gets the more North it will want to move..

A weather spotter reported a funnel cloud associated with a small
shower south of Ft Drum around 1105 am. Other showers moving
towards the west and northwest at 10 mph could produce a brief
funnel cloud late this morning or early in the afternoon.

Other locations potentially impacted include...Treasure Island,
Okeechobee, Basinger, Blue Cypress Lake and Fort Drum.

Funnel clouds can occasionally touch down and produce brief small
tornadoes. Move indoors and stay away from windows.

Harvey looks scarey. Hope TX is prepared for all that water coming there way. Not worried about this other mess. Looks like a primarily a S FL event as my 5 day WPC QPF is for 0.25-0.50 inches. I hope it stays down there as I might finally get a chance to go scalloping this weekend.

yes it looks like Florida lucked out with Harvey...they think it will become a major hurricane and stall out once it comes ashore ..oh boy,alot of damage and flooding is going to happen there...wonder why they haven't started evacuations there already?

Local met thinks 92 will cross back over Florida tomorrow sometime, to me this sounds good..it wont be sitting over those warm gulf waters for days now.

Hey JR, I did get in on a little luck with a cell that grew on top of me.  I ended up with .53" from that beautiful rainfall!  There was quite a bit of thunder associated with everything around me, but no lightning to speak of.

South TX is in a world of hurt - the stall and backtrack is a worst case scenario.  It will be interesting to see how far back to the gulf it makes it and if it can do anything once over water (if it gets there) again.

of a weak area of low pressure as it lifts northeastward
across the peninsula. This will mean widespread and locally
heavy rains both today and tomorrow. Areas along and south
of I-4 generally look to hold the greater potential for
heavier rainfall and possible flooding, where 2 to 3 inches
of rain is currently forecast. Slightly drier air north of
I-4 should limit convective coverage along the northern
extent of the low center. Showers and storms will likely get
an earlier start Friday as southwesterly onshore flow
develops on the southern periphery of the low pressure
system. With increased moisture and associated clouds and
rain, temperatures over southern parts of the peninsula will
be tempered somewhat. As opposed to the mid 90s we saw over
the last weekend, we will see highs in the upper 80s in
some areas. Drier locations further north can still expect
highs in the 90s however. Low temperatures will generally
hold steady in the middle and upper 70s.

.Long Term (Friday Night-Thursday)...
A trough of low pressure will linger over the peninsula
through at least Monday, and then shift off to the NE over
the Atlantic through the rest of the period leaving weak
ridging in place in its wake. Deep moisture and instability
will accompany the trough and allow for scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms each day. Highest chances
will be across the southern half of the area. Scattered
thunderstorms then expected each afternoon for Tuesday
through Thursday. Temperatures will be near normal through
the period with lows in the mid 70s to near 80 and highs in
the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Scary indeed. They could be staring down the barrel of a Cat 3/4 come morning. Then a stall for days dropping feet of rain. For perspective purposes visualize him 700 miles east moving at a NE heading on approach to FL. I DO NOT want to ever endure what TX is about to go through. This storm seems a certainty to go down in the record books and one to be remembered for a lifetime.

I too have no worries about 92L. Shouldn't be more than what the state experiences many times a year.

Agree. I also have a friend who was on vacation here in Florida and is now driving non-stop back to the bullseye in Corpus Cristi.

On a side note, got a ton of rain from that front that pushed through up here in Trinity.
