Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
NWS Miami..2pm...... large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the
Bahamas is associated with a trough of low pressure. Any
development of this system during the next few days should be slow
to occur while it moves northwestward or northward near Florida and
the adjacent waters. Environmental conditions could become a little
more conducive for tropical or subtropical development by the
weekend when the system begins to move northeastward over the
western Atlantic. Regardless of development, very heavy rain and
flooding is possible over portions of the Florida peninsula during
the next few days. Please refer to products from your local
National Weather Service office for more information on this system.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

JR from baynews9...................A tropical wave is east of Florida, over the Bahamas. It will slowly drift west into our state resulting in a big increase in atmospheric moisture.
Rain chances will increase to 50 percent to 60 percent for the middle to the end of the week.

Good afternoon. I find this somewhat interesting (the moving into FL part) since it contradicts the latest NHC discussion keeping 92L east or near the east coast of FL as it moves NW or N. I will side with the NHC since this is their livelihood. Hope people get the rains and nothing else.
My more immediate interest will be following ex Harvey the next couple of days.

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
WPC forecast map sucks for us.... south Florida is a different story. As it stands now, we will probably have dry air filter in unless the track changes more significantly to the west with whatever 92L is.

Fairly mundane forecast for me over the next week. The only thing worth mentioning is the HI for the next couple of days.

Look at the positive san - it's late August and the comfy days of opening up the slider to let in some fresh, low humidity air with cool temps are only weeks away.

Our local weather guy said basically who knows what to expect, he said we could get spotty rain, torrential downpours, flooding, showers, it could stay offshore. He did say it was trapped down here though.

Good early Wednesday Morning folks...local met is telling us here to expect rain chances to go up today and continuing thru Saturday,with sometimes heavy rain,well for myself I welcome that,its so dry here now...........well folks south of I-4 if flooding is a concern,now would be time to prepare for it,im still not seeing and warnings of high winds,but that could change huh..this 92L is sure confusing the experts..they really don't have any idea what its going to do..models are changing constantly...............so I'm setting the Blogs COFFEE to perk for when you get here...next few days we may need a few more pots of it lol....well have a great day everyone...stay alert out there for any changes ok.

Showers and a few storms will move toward the northwest around 10
mph through the late afternoon hours. Areas most likely to have a
shower or storm move through include locations near the Treasure
Coast...also the western interior sections...including Okeechobee...
western sections of Osceola and Orange counties and Lake county.
As showers and storms continue to move over the Treasure Coast
counties from the Atlantic...a few areas may have localized
flooding...especially in poorly drained areas where rain has been
the most persistent today.

Glad your dog is ok Largo. I have a hyper dog that turns an ankle from time to time. I'll monitor for a day or so to see if it's vet worthy. It hasn't been yet as after a night of rest she has recovered well. Soon to be 9 year old pooch.
No threat to Tampa from TD Harvey. It's 800 miles away drifting in some sort of westerly direction. Northern MX to LA on the other hand........
Rains may return here tomorrow. We shall see.

Re: CLOSED 8-13-17 FLORIDA/ALABAMA WEATHER
thanks AUG yeah that's what she did,turned real fast then walked to me on 3 legs gee...well vet said no fractures or breaks,so I guess she'll just have to rest and heal those ligaments or whatever it is......yeah I sure hope some of 92's rain gets here whew its hot and dry...........oh...CMC model builds up something from the tail end of this weak trough that will be in the gulf around the 26th or so..it comes into tampa bay area then up to your area and then up the east coast...its not..the actual 92 but something that build up a few days later......i'll keep a watch on it thru the week..i guess that is what some models were saying about a wind event around here on the 26-27th.StAugustineFL wrote:LargoFL wrote:well I wonder if...Tampa bay area gets the rains from 2 systems this week????........................................The remnants of Harvey are close to redeveloping into a tropical depression over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico about 150 miles west of Merida, Mexico. you are living in a fantasy world if you think "weeks" before we have cooler temps!
