Looks as if the second round of rain for the afternoon won't materialize.  All I'm seeing is south and east now.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
232 PM EST Tue Jan 9 2018

.SHORT TERM (Tonight-Wednesday)...
A weak area of low pressure is in place over the eastern
Gulf of Mexico. Some chaff is moving over the southern zones
this afternoon. The upper low with this system will weaken
and shift to over south Florida through the period as the
surface low opens into a trough across the state. A little
subsidence on the back side of the trough will keep rain
chances limited across the central and southern coasts, with
20-40 percent chances north and inland through the period.
Lows tonight will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Highs
will be in the mid 70s to around 80 Wednesday afternoon.

Patches of dense fog have developed across southwest Florida
overnight, and will continue to reduce visibilities to around a
quarter mile or less in some spots through around 10 AM. If you
encounter fog while driving, slow down, use your low beam
headlights, and leave plenty of distance between you and the
vehicle in front of you.

Only got 0.15 out of the rain yesterday AM. It is misty out this morning, but haven't seen any measurable rain. Looks like we might get some on Friday with the front passing, then cold for the weekend and most of next week. The 10 day forecast for me has highs in the 50's for 5 days in a row starting Saturday, and lows near freezing each of those nights with the coldest night down to 28. Guess I better go chop some more fire wood.

TGIF. Foggy and misty here this AM. Looks like a good chance of at least 0.50" of rainfall coming about mid day today then another batch of cold air behind the front. Looks like this week should be a typical January cold snap in Florida, especially north of I 4. We are forecast to have Temps in the 50's during the days and at or slightly below freezing each night. I for one am glad we are having a normal winter this year since the last couple have been duds. The Winter forecast by NOAA was for warmer than normal and drier than normal conditions for the winter season. However, it has been up and down temp wise which averages out to right at normal, and we have actually received significant rainfall with each frontal passage this winter. That is something we haven't seen in several years, and I hope it keeps up.

Very foggy and it has been raining lightly for about 30 minutes. Looks like a little bit heavier rain is getting ready to move in. These wet fronts have been great this year.

rea Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
847 AM EST Sat Jan 13 2018

...MUCH COLDER TODAY...

...FREEZE WARNING PARTS OF INLAND NE FL TONIGHT...

.UPDATE...

About 20 degrees cooler this morning at 8 am compared to 24 hrs
ago at JAX trailing the cold front last night. Some locations
across SE GA including Homerville and Baxley reached freezing
this hour due to strong, but somewhat shallow cold air advection
per the 12Z JAX raob which indicated NW flow just above the
surface, then WSW flow upward from about 920 mb and a steep
inversion. Low clouds were steadily pressing southward over SE GA
early this morning, initialized well by HRRR layered cloud cover
product which advertised sun breaking out generally north of I-10
corridor by noon, with gradual break-up of low stratus across NE
FL through mid-afternoon as the moisture shield gradually settles
south of I-10 corridor. An elevated low level pressure gradient
was over the local area between the cold front settling southward
over central FL and a surface ridge axis extending W-E across
south-central GA. As the cold front settles farther south, this
low level ridge axis will build across the area into the
afternoon, which will gradually relax the gradient and bring
decreasing winds into the afternoon and evening hours. This
morning winds were WNW 10-15 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph, with
expected speeds falling to near 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph
into the early afternoon. High temperatures were already realized
at many locations before sunrise this morning, with cold air
advection continuing to lower temperatures this hour after
sunrise. Expect enough insolation today for temperatures to
rebound into the mid/upper 40s across SE GA to lower 50s for much
of NE FL.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

chill values in the 40s are possible over northwestern areas Monday

KEEPING YOUR PETS SAFE IN COLD WEATHER
Not all pets are suited for living outdoors.
Dogs will NOT be fine if left outside. All pets need shelter from the elements.
Do NOT leave your pets outside for long periods in cold weather.
Like humans, pets can suffer from hypothermia, especially younger and older pets.
If you can’t keep a pet indoors, set up a suitable outdoor house or shelter.
Use blankets to help pets keep in body heat.
Hypothermia
Dogs are at serious risk if their temperature drops below 96°.
Small and short-haired pets should wear sweaters in cold weather.
If your pet starts shivering, bring them indoors immediately.
Fresh water is a must at all times.
A heated dish is a wonderful tool for cold climates.
If your pet sleeps in the garage, be careful of where you store antifreeze.
Before starting your car, check for pets near the warm engine.
Never start your car in a closed garage. Carbon monoxide can kill you and your pet.
