This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
A strong upper storm system will move south across the northern
Gulf of Mexico later today. This is expected to generate a complex
of southward moving thunderstorms. A few of the storms may become
strong to severe with the main concern being locally damaging
wind gusts. Small hail, frequent lightning, and torrential rain
leading to possible flooding will also be a concern.

...RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
High surf will produce rip currents along area beaches.

...MARINE IMPACTS...
Breezy west to southwest winds around 20 knots will generate
increasing waves and make for dangerous boating conditions today
into tonight.

Morning. Yep Largo, could be a bumpy ride today for the northern half of the state. HRRR has also been consistent putting out some hefty rain totals of 2-4" through tonight. I'm kinda on the fringe.

Updated run (HRRR runs hourly) shifted the heaviest rains north with my area now around 4-6".  Guess we'll know in a few hours where everything sets up as it's going to start firing around 11-12.

ok AUG, stay alert and safe ok, once it begins driving could get a bit hectic too huh,good day to stay indoors,i dont know if any of this heavy stuff reaches down to my area this afternoon/evening, we'll see, we need to go shopping then im going to mow the lawn if the weather holds..sunny and breezy here right now.

The main severe threat will be associated with scattered to numerous
thunderstorms that should develop quickly from midday through early
afternoon over northern FL, and later in the afternoon near
sea-breeze and confluence boundaries across the FL
Panhandle/southern AL region. Damaging gusts and large hail are
expected, and a tornado cannot be ruled out.

Favorable low/middle-level lapse rates will overlie strong surface
heating, 70s to near 80 F surface dew points, PW to near 2 inches,
and mean mixing ratios 19-20 g/kg. Forecast soundings in the
preconvective environment accordingly show strong to extreme
buoyancy, with MLCAPE 3500-4500 J/kg, locally near 5000 J/kg. These
buoyant profiles will be deep also, with equilibrium levels near 50
kft and max parcel levels potentially topping 60 kft. As such, both
water-loaded severe pulses and upscale cold-pool organization appear
possible in support of the convective-wind hazard. Directional
shear should be small, given the westerly boundary-layer wind
component. However, deep-layer speed shear will be favorable for
organized multicells and at lest transient/heavy-precip supercells,
with effective-shear magnitudes ranging from 30-35 kt over the
northern FL Peninsula to 40-45 kt across the western Panhandle and
adjoining parts of AL. As such, a large-hail risk exists also.
Given the lack of larger ambient hodographs, tornado potential is
more conditional on storm-scale processes and to mesobeta-scale
convection/boundary interactions.

Evolution of one or two primary complexes is possible from initial
convection over northern FL and/or activity moving southeastward out
of the western activity into northwestern FL later. Damaging wind
will become the main concern as any such upscale organization
proceeds.

Thanks, Bills. I like that idea better. Last time I used Ortho Home Defense and it worked, but they just kept relocating. Every weekend was a new spot. I finally did get ant-free, and its been somewhere close to 10 years. Terro should be much easier and safer to try.

I'm a bit surprised SPC put the central part of the state in the watch this early. I don't anticipate seeing much of anything until this evening/overnight maybe.

folks there are MANY watches and warnings out on the NWS sites...Please heed your local warnings, so far in looking at the warnings map..looks like from about Daytona northward..both coasts ok..lets see if by 6-7 pm the warnings get extended southward..all day here by me suns been out and just a few clouds..that..has changed, suns still out but the clouds are coming together and getting Higher up...by me the temps and humidity are just awful..even the breeze is hot...mowed the dawn earlier, wow..well stay safe everyone lets see what this evening has in store for us..

Good Monday Morning folks!!..wow some real bad thunderstorm came thru here earlier, the booming started around 2am and woke me up..wow my dogs really didnt like all that booming thunder and it lasted for hours,quiet here by me now,and if this storm is coming to YOUR area inland and south..stay safe and be extra careful with that awful Lightning..i hope the storms weaken before they get to you........well have a great day everyone.......San we soon will need a new Blog ok...thanks

Yes those were some rough storms this morning. It was only bad till you got to I75
In my area not much. Great lightning and lots of thunder. I had .82 in bucket yesterday and .07 this morning.

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms expected today
across most of Southern Florida. Scattered thunderstorms are possible
tonight as well. Some storms may become strong. The main threats will
be localized flooding, cloud-to-ground lightning strikes, small
hail, and gusty winds of 45 mph or higher.

Waterspouts: Isolated waterspout activity will be possible today on
all coastal waters.

Tornadoes: Funnel cloud activity is expected today, along with higher
chances of brief tornadoes, especially in the afternoon.

Rip Currents: there is a moderate risk of rip currents today for the
Gulf coast beaches.

Temperatures: Heat index values are expected to rise into the 100 to
107 degree range across most of South Florida today, highest around
coastal areas of Palm Beach and Collier Counties.

Good morning. Been out of town on vacation. Came home Saturday to find out the monsoon season had started. My pond is nowwell outside its banks, but everything else was looking ok until yesterday. The huge storm complex hit here yesterday evening and lasted well into the night. Dropped enough rain to flood my pig pen. Hope we get some dry weather here soon or I will have to move the pig to higher ground. I am currently sitting at 9" for the month with most of that coming in the last week or so. We could really use a week or two of dry weather for things to soak in. If we get hit by a TS or Hurricane now Levy county will be in for some epic flooding as there are many place already under water.

Morning and welcome Back WD..i saw one report..about an area around Gainesville the from this storm system it recieved 16 inches of rain..OMG..yes this system is a strong one..good luck with the animals ok..seems like good rain chances thru this week

Got the wake-up booms at 4:10 this morning, then slept like a baby for the next hour. Morning walk was a bit drippy, but with an excellent light show. Pulled in about an inch of rain.

1.9” yesterday. I’ve never witnessed an electrical storm like last night. As it was approaching it made this eerie sound/noise I can’t describe it. The constant flashing and thunder was giving me an upset stomach. I believe this storms genesis was in AL when all hell was breaking loose in Gainesville. Sheez.

some news guy said Gainesville recieved 16 inches of rain geez. there has to be some flooding there
