well the models dont see it weakening till after it hits the first line of Islands, supposedly monday morning lets see IF it DOES weaken afterwards..this storm has idea's of its own and isnt listening to the "experts so far huh

what IM watching out for is any hint of Course change, like a NW change by the islands.

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Thunderstorms: Showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon,
becoming numerous over interior sections of South Florida and Lake
Okeechobee, eventually spreading towards the Gulf coast by early
evening. The main threats with any storms will be frequent cloud to
ground lightning strikes and heavy rainfall. The strongest storms
will be capable of producing gusty winds, funnel clouds, and hail.

Waterspouts: Isolated waterspouts are possible across all South
Florida waters, especially with any boundary collisions that may
occur.

Wind: Thunderstorms will be capable of producing wind gusts in
excess of 50 mph, with a few of the strongest storms over the
interior and Gulf coast capable of producing damaging wind gusts in
excess of 60 mph.

Hail: The strongest storms today will be capable of producing hail up
to the size of quarters, mainly interior and Gulf coast.

Flooding: Slow moving and training storms will lead to the threat
for flooding of streets and poor drainage areas, primarily over
interior and Gulf coast areas.

Temperatures: Temperatures in the lower 90s in combination with high
humidity levels will lead to maximum heat index values in the
101-106 degree range across much of South Florida for several hours
early this afternoon. Heat index values will be highest over western
Collier County.

(per ABC Action News)..........There is now a new way to get from Dunedin to Clearwater beach.

Clearwater Ferry is officially launching its "blue line" which will take you straight to Clearwater Marina.

The service will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with eight departure times on those days.

* Flood Advisory for...
Central Volusia County in east central Florida...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 318 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Deltona, Sanford, DeLand, Orange City and Lake Helen.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

ok Billsfan. sun finally broke thru the overcast an hour or so ago,,heating up here whew,,some big storms possibly up in WD's area..hopefully a shower will sneak over to my area tonight i hope.

Yep Largo, Daytona can be a crap shoot, depends on what drivers get caught up into the inevitable "big one" that can take half the field out of contention.

I don't see getting any rain here.

Sorry about that, Bills. DR stands for disaster recovery. My company evacs me in the case of an emergency, just in case we need to start up a duplicate set of critical computer systems. This way the company can keep running basic operations, if/when the computers in Tampa go down.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Scattered to numerous thunderstorm are expected to develop during
the mid to late afternoon hours and continue through the early
evening. The greatest coverage of storms will be over and east of
the Interstate 75 corridor. Some of the storms could be strong
with frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds.

...RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Recent heavy rainfall has brought the water level up to above
flood stage on the Little Manatee River at Wimauma...the Alafia
River at Lithia...and Horse Creek near Arcadia. Flooding is also
expected on the Peace River at Arcadia by this afternoon.
Residents living along rivers or faster flowing streams should
remain aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground
should flooding be observed.

there is way too much uncertainty with track and strength over time..ijust something to watch right now, my guess is by monday they should have a better idea what it will do huh

JR - are you new on the DR team? What happened last year with Irma? Jax Beach is nice. I usually go within 10 blocks either side of the pier the few times I get up there. Usually go to Vilano Beach or South Ponte Vedra. WAY different but I've yet to make it this year (too fat and don't want to scare off any beach-goers).

Hmmm, just looked at the GFS, CMC, and Euro. All now (albeit in a much weaker state) bring Beryl or its' remnants up through the Bahama's and east of Florida.

To Largo's point, something to watch and wait on. It is a VERY small storm though so impacts should be much more localized than the big canes that came through last year.

Still satellite pic of Beryl. Lot's of dry air in the mid levels to its' north and west. It's going to have a hard time ahead. While not shown here I took a peak at visiible. Center is exposed on the NW side.

yeah its just something to watch,unless later runs take it into Florida,highly unlikely huh

Aug - DR team became official last year with Irma (Our first hurricane declaration that I know of). The week before, I got back home after a Labor Day weekend in Jax, and the next morning was off to Atlanta, to prepare for the worst (and at 1 point, that looked possible).

Showers/storms are lining up along 95 just to my east. Been a dry start to July with .3" in 6 days. Would be nice to double that. We shall see in the next hour.

ok Aug, good luck up there!!..real early this morning I got a good soaking rain, wet everything down nicely then it went inland..all sunshine and a few clouds most of the day here now.

The ULL that crossed FL the past day or two is the culprit for the panhandle rains. Spin shows up nicely on satellite.
