Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
934 AM EDT Sun Jul 30 2017

.UPDATE...
A cloudy somewhat rainy day is expected across the area this
morning. A frontal boundary slowly sinking south across the
region will serve as the primary weather feature across our
region for the next few days. As has been expected, deep
tropical moisture continues to push into the region ahead of
this boundary. Morning KTBW RAOB sampled a PWAT value of 2
inches and this will likely continue to climb throughout the
day with continued SW flow from the surface through 700 mb.
Rain chances will continue to increase today from north to
south as the boundary continues to push down the peninsula.
No major changes were needed to the ongoing forecast as it
has a handle on things well. Later today, there is the
possibility a Flood Watch may be issued for a portion of the
region due to anticipated heavy rainfall over the coming
days. This will be coordinated with surrounding offices over
the next few hours.

Been raining here off and on since late last night. It has been coming in wave of heavy rain, then lighter in between. Currently at 2.75" and still coming down. Hope it quits soon as I want to replace the roof on my pump house today.

NHC 2pm sunday update.........................
2. A well-defined, non-tropical low pressure system has developed over
the northeastern Gulf of Mexico about 100 miles south-southwest of
Apalachicola, Florida. Upper-level winds are only marginally
conducive for this system to acquire subtropical or tropical
characteristics tonight and Monday before it moves inland over the
central Florida peninsula on Tuesday, and into the western Atlantic
by Wednesday. Regardless of development, the low is expected to
produce locally heavy rainfall across portions of central and
northeastern Florida during the next couple of days. Please see
additional information from your local National Weather Service
Forecast Offices concerning the rainfall threat.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

yes but the LOW just may add even more rain to the stalled out front..with maybe some wind?....what I myself am surely going to watch out for...when aany gulf LOW somes ashore..they sometimes throw off Tornados or water spouts that come ashore.

Sounds good to me. Only 0.1 so far, but the clouds, occasional gusty breezes, and light sprinkles are welcome. Should be a nice evening.
