Good Early Saturday Morning Folks!!...warmer here than this time yesterday..might get up to 80 around Tampa bay..i guess all eyes on the gulf this weekend...well enjoy the weekend everyone!!

Good afternoon. Glad it's the weekend. I've spent the day on the phone with family/friends then knocked out the majority of my Christmas shopping. Still need to run to Publix then have a Christmas party at 6:30. Should be fun.

Looking forward to some good rain tomorrow. Looks like it'll move out fairly quickly up here with possibly a nice afternoon then the dip in temps again.

.SHORT TERM (Today - Monday)...
An upper level shortwave trough swinging through the southeastern US
today is providing the forcing for a surface low crossing northern
Florida and dragging a cold front through the eastern Gulf of Mexico
and into the Florida Peninsula. A band of showers and thunderstorms
along and ahead of this front is quickly approaching the forecast
area, and is on track to quickly push southeast through the area
during the morning through early evening hours. Strong wind shear
ahead of the front will allow for the possibility of a few strong or
severe thunderstorms, with damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes
the primary threat. Breezy winds both ahead of and behind the front
will also lead to a high risk of rip currents along area beaches
today, with the threat continuing through the day on Monday.

As the front pushes into the Florida Straits tonight, breezy
northwest winds behind the front will lead to a sustained period of
cold air advection. Lows Monday morning will be noticeably cooler,
ranging from the mid 40s to low 60s. The breezy winds will continue
throughout the day Monday, with afternoon highs in the upper 50s over
the Nature Coast and in the 60s over the rest of West Central and
Southwest Florida.

Finally got a good rain here! 2.3" in the gauge and water and mulch floating on the sidewalk to the front door. The last push had a very heavy rain rate.

man its heavy down pouring rain here by me, sure glad I cleaned out the gutters yesterday, boy i needed this heavy rain, ground was so dry..and very breezy too..tree's swaying..man its really coming down here whew.

Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with these storms.

Hiya John glad you mage it thru the storm ok!!..yes there were 3 tornado's reported yesterday, some in Pasco county but the one in new port Richey got the most press i think...now we wait for the next one thur-fri ..have a great day up there pk

our NEXT storm front............NWS Tampa.......The next significant system to affect our weather
will be taking shape over the northwest Gulf coast on
Thursday, bringing more showers and thunderstorms to the
region Friday and Friday night. Models differ on timing, but
agree that this could be a potent system similar to what we
saw this past weekend. Cooler air will move in behind the
system for the weekend.

yeah our next front could be a wet-strong one also..still days away yet.........
